Same Mistakes

Chapter 1

Walking in the door, dropping my things and falling on the couch, I listen to my parents argue
What else is new, I think.
I come home to this everyday, after my long day of college. I wish I could move out but I just can't afford it.
My phone buzzes, I look to see who it's from.
From: Lottie
Hey, would you like to go to get pizza with me tonight? We need to study for the exams next week anyway.

Lottie was my best friend since I was in kindergarten. We had been through everything together. She was extremely pretty and popular, mainly because her brother was Louis Tomlinson, a member of one of the biggest bands in the world, One Direction. I was a huge fan of the band but it was hard to hide it. I didn't want to seem like I was only there because of them. Although I wasn't and I'm sure Lottie knew that since we had been friends since we were five or six.
To: Lottie
Sure, I'll meet you there around six?

From: Lottie
Sounds good to me!

Grabbing my things, I run up the stairs to my room. I lock my door and get my clothes together to put on when I get out of the shower.

I finish putting my hair into a messy bun and slip on my ugg boots, grab my wallet and phone and walk downstairs.
"Mom! I'm going over to Lottie's! I'll be home later. We have to study" I say walking into the kitchen to where she is at.
"Okay be careful." She says.
"Do you need money?" My dad asks me.
"No, I have some" I answer but regret as soon as I say it. He might of given me extra.

"You look like a basic today" Lottie says teasing me of my outfit made up of leggings, a PINK hoodie and uggs.
"Yeah, I'm so ready for break. One more week" I say.
"Me too, My family is going to the states for Christmas. Want to join us?" She asks.
"I'll have to make sure it's okay with my parents, of course"
"I think all of the guys' families will be there. They rented a nice place big enough for everyone."
"So Harry will be there?" I ask.
"Unfortunately, yes he will be there." She says jokingly.
"Yay! I am definitely going now" I say excitedly.
She rolls her eyes, "Shows who you really care about."
"Oh quit acting like I don't love you"
My phone buzzes, I look at it and see it is from my younger brother.
From: Reid
Naomi, come home soon. Mom and dad have something to tell us. I have no clue what it is but evidently it is important.

To: Reid
Okay I'll be there in about an hour or so.

"What is that about?" Lottie asks as she takes a bite of her slice of pizza.
"Reid telling me to come home because mom and dad have something 'important' to tell us." I answer.
"Oh."
"How are Ernest and Doris?" I ask. That was her half-brother and sister they were the youngest of the family, twins.
"Good, keeping me busy. I will be glad when they get a little older and Daisy and Phoebe can help out a little. Now it's just me and Fizzy helping mom."

I walk in the front door and I hear my mom say, "in here!" From the kitchen
I walk in and Reid had tears in his eyes and dad is sitting with his head down.
"You both know that your dad and I love you two very much. I'm sure you've noticed how much we have been fighting though, and we've thought about this and decided we shouldn't be together anymore. We are getting a divorce" My mom says as if she is hurt to tell us. I think the pain in her voice was because she didn't want Reid and I to be hurt.
Without speaking to anyone, I walk out of the room and go up the stairs to my room.
I lock the door behind me and go lay on my bed. Thoughts running through my head, I can't control.
My phone buzzes again.
From: Lottie
Is everything alright?

To: Lottie
I don't want to talk about it over text. May I stay the night at your place?

From: Lottie
Yes.

I grab my bag that I have already packed and my phone charger and walk out, without speaking to anyone.

I knock at the door and Lottie answers almost instantly.
"What's wrong?" She says as she leads me in the door.
"Mom and dad... They are getting a divorce" I say trying to hold back tears.
"Oh ... I'm so sorry. I know how you feel, I've been through it. It is bad. I know" she says trying to comfort me.
A familiar voice says, "Naomi! I've missed you so much!"
"Oh yeah, someone would like to see you" Lottie says.
I look up and see the curly haired, green eyed boy smiling with dimples on either side of his smile.

A/N
This book will probably be a lot like my previous book "Illusion" that I deleted. I will try to update regularly this time so I will remember what it's about.
