The Latte Prince

Even one of the warmest and coziest apartments in New York had its cold autumn breezes. It was just another rainy day in the autumn season, and all Lily wanted right now was a good day of rest. She had been working overtime at her flower shop, and Sunday was her only day off. The soft pitter patter of raindrops could be heard softly through the window sill. It was the perfect day for Lily to sleep in, or so she thought.

"Ring ring." Her apartment doorbell rang. She had spoken too soon. An aggravated Lily woke up and rushed for the door. The doorbell rang again, even louder this time. "I'm coming!" She shouted across the hall. She opened the door, only to be tackled by a tall figure.

"Ahhhh!" She screamed, as she fell backwards quickly. She didn't feel any pain though. She looked up to find a man with hazel eyes. This was no ordinary man though, this was her childish but lovable boyfriend. "Owww." He groaned loudly.

"James? Why are you here this early in the morning?" she asked.

"I'm here to see you! What else would I come here for?" he replied, a small smile already appearing. He would always smile for the simplest things. Its one of the reasons why she loves him so much.

"This early though? Couldn't you have waited a couple more hours?" She asked, still shocked from his sudden appearance.

"Nope! Now c'mon! Get dressed so we can go!" He urged quickly.

"Why? Where are we going?"

Normally she wouldn't ask so many questions, but she had barely gotten any sleep this week and James didn't normally come over this early. Thoughts started filling her head on what was going on. Where was he planning on taking me? Why must he be here so early? Was there something he has been hiding from me? She looks over once more at her suspicious boyfriend.

"Okay, I know this looks weird but you just have to trust me on this one okay?" he begged.

With that, she sighed and said "Okay, but you better not be taking me somewhere that can have me either killed, hurt, or scarred for life."

A face filled with shock was brought upon James face as she finished her sentence. "I would never do that! I've known you for five years now, and this is what you think of me? Thats just sad." He dramatically exclaimed.

"I know, but that doesn't mean I can't worry. You know how much I hate surprises." Lily quietly replied.

"Well this is a surprise you will definitely like, so get dressed already so we can go!" James demanded impatiently.

"Okay okay!"

Excitement and anxiousness filled her apartment building. She was off like a rocket. Lily got ready as fast as she could. She thought of places James would probably take her. She hoped for the best today. When she finally finished getting ready, they headed out the door and into the crowded streets of New York City.

Instead of driving, they decided to walk to the first mysterious location on her boyfriend's list. They spent their time talking and laughing about the most random things. He didn't have to try hard to get her to laugh. This was another reason why she loves him. He could always brighten her day no matter what. After fifteen minutes pass by from their stroll around town, James stopped at the one and only flower shop of the neighborhood, Lilies Flower Shop and Decor. This just so happened to be Lily's flower shop. With a large smile plastered on James's face, he halted her and walked into the store. The confused brunette waited outside, clueless of what was happening.

A minute passes by and he walked out of the store with a bouquet of flowers. "For you madam." He says sweetly, giving her a bouquet of lilies.

"Lilies! How did you know they were my favorite?" She asked, full of sarcasm.
