I awoke at 9 o'clock, and got ready for his funeral.

I had a black dress and some black flats to wear. I threw those on, and made some breakfast. I checked my phone and noticed I had a missed call. It was from an unknown number again. I had to get this person to stop calling me. I had better things to do today than deal with this. I just ignored it, and ate my breakfast. I grabbed my speech and headed out the door. I never thought this day would come. I was actually going to his funeral. This made me very upset. I mean, I know that funerals are supposed to be sad, but it was too personal for me.

I arrived at McGregor's Funeral Home, and joined Mrs.West.

"Hello Mrs.West, how are you doing today?" I asked.

"I'm fine, I guess. I never thought I would be doing this." She said.

"Me neither." I said smiling at her.

"Are you ready?" She asked.

"I think so." I replied.

Slowly everyone started arriving at the funeral. When it was 11 o'clock, Mrs.West stood on the podium next to Andrew's coffin.

She cleared her throat, and looked down at the casket. I could tell she was going to start crying, and I knew I was going to as well.

"Everyone here today, loved Andrew. He was a sweet boy, and we had so many great memories. I remember when he was about 5, we were making cookies together with his sister, and I told him not to eat the cocoa, since it was semi-sweet, and he wouldn't like it, but he did anyways, and the look on his face, was so funny." She stopped and laughed, and so did everyone else.

I was smiling through my tears, and she began speaking again.

"Another time on Thanksgiving, when he was 8, he told me he wanted to eat the whole turkey leg, so I gave it to him, and he shoved the whole thing in his mouth." She was still laughing.

"Oh, it seems like yesterday he was just a little boy, and now he's gone. Too soon for my Andrew." She started crying, and stepped off of the podium.

I took a deep breath, and walked up to the podium. There he was, lying in his casket. He looked so peaceful.

"Andrew was a good man. He was loved by everyone here today. His smile could brighten up a room, and brighten up your day. Now, I don't have as many memories as him and Mrs.West do, but we have enough, if you don't mind. Now, I know that I haven't met all of you, but before he died, we were engaged. I remember the first day I met him, May 23rd, 2013, in three days would be our anniversary. He lived across the hall, and we worked in the same building, and he kept smiling and staring at me. It was flattering, and we started hanging out a lot. I won't get into anything personal, but we did so many things. We went to a 49ers game, back in September. That was a very fun day. He also took me laser-tagging, and out to get pizza. The little things are the things that matter most in life. The memories that you keep, can last a century. I brought a picture of me and him at the niners game, and that was one of the best days of my life. I was with him the day he died. It was a rainy Saturday night, and his neighbor had kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and myself. I won't go into detail about that night, but." I said.

I was choking up, but I had to continue, I had so much more to say.

"The doctor's said he awoke for a few moments, and told him to look in his top left drawer of the dresser. So I went back to his apartment, and there was a note. It had so many things to say to everyone. His last written words were that he loves all of you, and that you all made him the best he could be. He would've been coming home next week from New York. I packed up his clothes and some other things, in case you wanted to keep anything of his. Even though he's gone, he will never be forgotten." I stepped off of the podium and started crying.

Everyone walked past his coffin, and Mrs.West and I were last to go. She started crying a lot, and walked right past him. I did the same.

"I love you Andrew." I whispered.

I was still crying, but managed to walk away.

They buried him, and his headstone read;

Andrew Stevens West

Beloved Son and Husband

January 19, 1984- May 15, 2014

May He Rest In Peace

I walked away, still crying when I got to my car. This didn't seem fair to me, but I guess like I said last night, it's human nature.

I drove home and made some tea. I guess now would be a good time to tell the landlord about Andrew, and how he won't be coming back. I had to gather his belongings first.

I went across the hall, and unlocked his door.

I opened it, and it seemed normal. Like he had never left. I only grabbed stuff worth keeping, but would sell the furniture and appliances. I went into his bedroom, and grabbed all of his bathroom supplies. I grabbed some clothes he left, they still smelled like him. I went back into the living room, and grabbed a photo album that was under his coffee table. I looked through it and saw pictures of him and his family. Some were when he was little, and some months before I had met him. He had a picture of everyone in his family and wrote a description about each of them. On the very last page was a picture of me. The description read; My soon-to-be wife, Lauren. I started tearing up, and kept looking through the photo album. On the very last page of the book, was the picture of me and him at the 49ers game. I swear they would be my favorite team forever.

I grabbed everything and took it back to my apartment. I set them down on my table, and had them neatly organized into my living room. I had about an hour until I had to meet Mrs.West, so I walked over to the other complex and met with the landlord.

She was a nice lady, very understanding, and was very sad about hearing that Andrew was gone.

"Okay, well, what are you going to do about everything else?" She asked.

"It's already being taken care of. His mother shut off his water, cable, gas and electric. Everything is set. I just need to sell his furniture." I replied smiling.

"Okay, I'm sorry for your loss. Have a good day." She said.

"You as well." I replied and left.

There was one more thing I had to do before I met Mrs.West. I went to our phone store, and payed his phone bill.

This was only so I could call him and hear his voice, anytime I wanted to.

Oh Andrew, how much I miss you.
