I heard some voices far off as I jolted upward realizing that I had fallen asleep
I grabbed my backpack, which I was using for a pillow. I hadn't packed much, it still had tons of my school work in it. I only had a little time to pack. I packed a knife, my dad's pistol, ammo, salt, and some food. I had some money in my wallet and a first aid somewhere in there too, but nothing too extreme..
I gulped, what if it was them or him? What if they found me because I decided to fall asleep. I was so stupid sometimes. I stepped over my salt line and looked around, I couldn't see anyone, but I heard two voices, both male. They were probably demons, I wasn't sure.
"Yeah, Sam I'm sure. There was a trail over here." I hear one voice say. I see two men walking over, one a giant, the other shorter, but older. I ran back inside the cave, to the very back, which really wasn't that far. I was hidden, at least as long as they didn't come inside, but of course, I wasn't that lucky.
I tried to calm my breathing so they wouldn't hear. It didn't help me that I made the salt line so clear. I could see them now, but it was too dark for them to see me. The tall one, Sam? Was bent down, looking at the line. The other one, which I didn't know the name of yet, put a finger to his mouth. They both nodded and headed inside. The short one took a flashlight out and shined it right at me, great.
I stood up, my eyes wide. I was scared, I had some other emotion too, but I wasn't sure what it was. I had my knife pulled out, ready to strike if any of them tried something. The tall one put his gun down. I took in a deep breath in relief.
"Dean, put it down. It's just a girl." The tall one said. Just a girl? What was that supposed to mean.
The shorter one, Dean, put his gun down. I lowered my knife, but only a little. I didn't trust these two, but I didn't trust anyone for that matter.
The one called Sam looked at me, sympathy in his eyes. It was as if he could see the hurt in me, the pain. It was scary. "Hey, it's okay. We're not going to hurt you. Are you hurt?" Sam said. I just stared at him, trying to figure out if he was telling the truth. He got the message.
"We aren't here to hurt you, we promise. I'm Sam and this is my brother Dean." He said, pointing to the shorter one. That made sense, brothers. "What's your name?" He asks me, getting a little closer, I pull the knife up higher and move back, my body forced against the wall. He stepped back, surprised by my reaction.
"Wi.... Will" I cleared my dry throat. I hadn't drank in a while, yet alone talked. "Willow." I said, keeping my eyes on the two.
"Willow, really? Your parents named you after a tree? I might as well call you leaf." Dean said, I flinched at the word 'parents'. Sam seemed to notice this, but didn't say anything. The nickname made me smile slightly.
Dean put his hand out. "See, she likes it."
Sam rolled his eyes. "Dean, she's not a pet. Here, let's go into the light, okay?" I nod and follow them, but the second that we get to the salt line I stop.
"What's wrong?" Dean asks me.
I gulp. "The Demons. They'll find me." I say, not adding very much detail.
Both of the brothers seem surprised. "Willow, how old are you?" Sam asked. I hadn't really expected that question.
"Wil." I said, I personally liked it better, it's what my friends called me and Willow reminded me of my family too much.
Sam nodded. "Yeah, sorry. Wil, how old are you?" He asked, this time I decided to answer.
"fifteen and a half. Around there at least." I answered. I wasn't sure if it was a half or more or less, I could of done the math, but I was too lazy and had more important things to do.
"Willow, where's your family? Your parents?" Sam asked. My eyes got slightly watery. I lowered my head so they wouldn't see. I think they got it. Sam looked at me, hurt and worry in his eyes. "How?" He asked. I looked at him.
"De...." I took in a deep breath. "The demons." Dean had wide eyes, Sam just nodded
"How long have you been out here?" Dean asked, I didn't think he like talking much, but I was probably wrong.
"Since yesterday." I said. I probably smelt bad, had dirty hair and skin, and my hair was probably a mess. I hadn't eaten except for a power bar I had in the cave, before that nothing.
"Is there anywhere you can go? Anywhere we can take you?" Sam asked. My eyes widened.
"No! They can't know. They..... they think I'm dead, everyone, the demons too. That's the way it has to stay." I say, stepping back a little.
Sam sighs. "Okay, umm. Willow, can you give us a second? Why don't you go grab your stuff?" I nod and head into the cave to grab my backpack.
I knew what he was doing, trying to get me out of the way so he could talk to his brother, about me too. I knew what was going to happen. They'd probably bring me to social services or something, I'd end up dead.
They finished talking right as I got out of the cave. To my surpirse Dean spoke up this time. "So this is what we're going to do. You come with us to where we're staying and we'll...... well, Sammy will help you get cleaned up. Tomorrow morning we'll take you to a friend of ours, Bobby, he'll know what to do. kay?" He finishes.
"Kay." I say, I knew not to talk to strangers and definatley not stay with some, but they were hunters and they also happened to be a better option then a cave or being found. I follow them to the edge of the woods where their car is.
"Is that yours?" I ask them, pointing to a classic Impala.
"Yep. You like?" Dean says proudly. I smile, I was going to like this.
"A lot." I say, Sam opens the back door for me and we head to their 'place' which as I suspected was just a hotel.
