A/N: sorry its short! I wanted to make this longer, but my brain gave out.
Bold= sounds
Italic= thoughtsThe first day of school Marcy Sapphire thought as she put her long, violet hair in a ponytail only for her hair tie to break. Damn it! That was my favorite one! Marcy put the broken band on her nightstand and grabbed a stretched one. She sighed, "This will have to do-." The band broke again. "Mom! My hair ties keep breaking!" Marcy shouted to her mother who was in the other room.
"Sweetie, use the one on your doorknob! I left it there just in case!" Her 32 year old mother shouted to Marcy, her 16 year old daughter. Marcy stood up from her bed, walked over to her door and grabbed the bright pink hair tie. Ew, why this one of all the hair ties in this house?! Marcy thought. She tied the band around her hair once, then twice, then the third time and snap. The band broke like the first two. "Mom! This one broke too!" Marcy shouted to Lilly Sapphire, her mother. "I'll just wear my hair down! If it gets in the way, I'll just use a rubber band!"
"Alright sweetie! Be careful not to tear any hair out when taking the rubber band out of your hair! Breakfast is on the counter! I'll be in the car when you're ready to go!" Her mother said.
"No need mom! I'll ride the bus! I'm gonna walk to the bus stop with Emilia Wyliam!"
"Oh, alright sweetie! Be careful! We don't need my little rabbit coming home hurt, now do we? What animal is Emilia? How old is she, Marcy?"
"Mom! I got to go, or I'll miss the bus! Bye, love you mom!"
"Love you too, sweetie!" Her mother said as Marcy left her bedroom and went to the front door, turned the handle and left while grabbing her house keys. She shut the locked door behind her and walked off the front steps. She walked to her neighbors' house. She walked up to the door and knocked softly.
"Coming! I'll be out in a second!" someone from inside had said.
"Emilia, hurry up! We 're going to be late!" Marcy said.
"Ugh! Fine!" Emilia yelled, "Just let me grab my bag and I'll be outside!" Emilia opened the door and walked out while shutting her locked front door.
"Happy?" Emilia said while quietly giggling to herself.
"Very. Now c'mon! We might miss the bus!" Marcy said while running toward the bus stop.
"Alright, alright!" Emilia replied while running after Marcy. The bus arrived and they both got on, finding an empty seat and sat down. Marcy got out her phone and texted her mother, "I'm on the bus. My phone will be on vibrate. Message me if you need me." Emilia sat near the window with her red panda ears and black silky hair covered with the hood of her jacket. Marcy's phone vibrated in her right jacket pocket and grabbed it out. A text from mom? Marcy thought.
"Sweetie, are you hiding your tail? We can't let anyone else know." Her mother had texted.
"Yes mom, it's hidden. It won't end up like the last school." Marcy replied while her mother was still typing her next message.
"Good. Now, what animal is Emilia? And how is she? What year of high-school is she?" Lily, Marcys mother, texted.
"Red panda, 16, junior. She won't hurt me." Marcy managed to reply without Emilia trying to get her friends' attention.~~~~
When they got to school and sat down in the cafeteria~~~
"Emilia, who's the new friend?" an Arctic fox asked the red panda, "they look like they would be a good snack not a friend." No response. "Joking." The fox rolled their eyes.
"This is-" Emilia says while being cut off by her friend.
"Marcy, and you are?" Marcy replies harshly. Clearly she didn't like the joke.
"Right, my bad, my little bunny." They bowed down softly while continuing, "Wisp. I'm gender-fluid. My pronouns are they/them. Don't misgender me." Unamused, Marcy starred at Wisp with a death glare. One that could kill someone with just a glance. Ding ding ding. The bell rang and people were moving to their classes. "See you later my little bunny. Bye Emilia!" Wisp said, waving to the others.
"Mhm.." Marcy replied quietly then looked at Emilia who was waving back at them.
"What?" Emilia said, after noticing that her friend was looking at her confused. "They're a good friend, really. You just gotta get to know them!"
"Why the name Wisp? I mean, it's cool, but I would've expected like Snow, or Ice. Something that goes with their kind. Not something related to summer. I don't mind it, but still." Marcy said to her friend while packing her stuff and getting up, on her way to her first class with her schedule in hand.
"Not sure, but the name stuck, didn't it?" Emilia said gigging and smiling wide.
"Yeah yeah, let's hurry to class." Marcy replied while walking away, leaving her behind.
"W-wait for me! Hey!" She said while trying to catch up to her friend, who was already half way down the twenty-foot hall.~~~
After Three Classes
Lunch Time
~~~"Ugh, I don't like math." Emilia said casually while slinking down into a chair at a table with her two friends already seated. Marcy and Wisp laugh a little, while Emilia rolls her eyes.
"Don't we all?" Wisp says in a snarky way, and looks at Marcy while smirking. Emilia lays her head in the table softly and groans while softly banging her head on the table. Marcy softly brushes her fingers through Emilias hair to calm her friend down. Wisp notices and cocks an eyebrow at Marcy. Confused, they study Marcy to try to understand what she's doing and why. A few minutes later, Emilia stops banging her head and starts to snore. Marcy removes her hand from her friends' hair and noticies Wisp starring. She turns her head to the side in a confused manner, trying to ask "what" without saying anything. Wisp noticies and motions for her to follow them, while getting up and heading to a corner of the cafeteria. A few minutes later, they're both at the corner. "How'd you do that, my little bunny?" Wisp asked Marcy, still being confused and curious as ever.
"Do what?" she asked, "put Emilia to sleep?"
"Yeah, that." Wisp responded quickly. "How'd you put her to sleep so easily?" Marcy giggled softly with Wisps' response. They were even more confused, confused about everyone.
