"Dream, stop leaning on me!"

George had been holding open the door as Clay walked out of the clear glass doors of the hospital. The young YouTuber had been discharged earlier in the morning and George had taken the liberty of driving him back home.

Giving a sideways glance to the young Brit, Clay wheezed. "Dude, I'm not even on you right now! I'm two feet away!" George stuck out his tongue. "You were literally putting all of your weight on my left shoulder, Dream."

Clay put his hands up in defeat. "Alright, fine, I was leaning on you. Honestly though, you're comfortable! Let me do it more often."

George jogged quickly over to where Clay was standing and intertwined his hands with the Floridian. The two young lovers pulled themselves closer to each other and George gave a longing sigh. "You know, we thought you wouldn't make it. I thought you wouldn't make it. You really scared me and I never want you to do that again."

Dream dislodged his hands from George's and cupped the older boy's face. "George, you heard me promise you I wouldn't ever leave you. You believe me, right?"

"I.." For some reason, George couldn't get himself to say yes. "I want to believe you, but I'm scared, Clay. I'm so scared," he mumbled softly.

Dream's eyes softened and he pulled George closer to his body and dug his face into his shoulder. "Hey, hey, it's alright." Dream honestly didn't know what else to say and settled on small and thoughtful movements. The last thing he wanted was George to cry more than he had. The poor boy had stuck his neck out for Clay and had travelled hours just to see him nearly dead in a hospital bed.

Pulling away, George ran a small hand through his unkempt hair and pulled out the rental car keys Jennifer had given him the day before Clay was set to be discharged. They were to a small Hundai which needed to be returned a couple days later.

"You ready to head back to your apartment?" George calmly asked Clay. The younger male nodded and smiled, hoping to brighten the mood slightly. "God I hope my apartment isn't a mess when I left it. I promised myself I'd clean it, but-"

"You don't have to worry about that," George interjected. "Jennifer took the liberty of cleaning and fixing up your apartment while you were out. Trust me when I say it looks like a professional team of maids came through and just cleaned everything top to bottom. She did a fantastic job."

Clay nodded thoughtfully. 'I'll have to thank her when I get home,' he thought to himself as both he and George piled into the rental and began their drive back to Clay's apartment.

----------------------------------------------------

A few minutes had passed and the drive back to Dream's apartment had been a quiet one. The younger couldn't blame George. He had been through a lot and he could tell the poor boy was worn out. There were bags under those soft brown eyes and his face was tinged red in response to the many tears which had trailed down the Brit's face. George's dark brown hair was ruffled and was in desperate need of a brush, too.

"Hey, George?" The older man turned his head slightly in Dream's direction while still looking at the road. "Hm?"

"Could you sleep with me tonight?"

George almost slammed on the brakes. "You want me to sleep with you?" He didn't mean for it to come out in an annoyed tone, but unfortunately that's how Dream heard it. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ask. I was just wondering. Forget I brought it up."

George sighed. "No, no, I'm sorry. I'm not completely focused right now. I didn't mean for it to come out like that. Yes, I would love to sleep with you tonight, but is there enough room?"

Clay's heart nearly jumped out of his chest and his cheeks began to turn a soft pink. "There's plenty of room just for you and I."

The Brit smiled softly and turned his attention back to the road. It wasn't long before the two were at Clay's place and turning his attention back out of the passenger window, Dream smiled.

To be honest, he wouldn't change what had happened for the world. He had George now and forever as once a best friend who would do anything to a lover who would stay by his side in good and bad.

He didn't think it was possible, but...

Clay couldn't have been happier.
