Scarlertt's Point of View

A birthday is supposed to be happy, but ironically, I wish it will never come again in my life. I thought it will be my best day, but I was wrong. At exactly 8 o' clock in the evening, I, who was only a naive, 7-year old kid, just witnessed such a horrible, scary and traumatizing nightmare in my life.

(Flashback)

*inside their house*

Mom: Ivory, I need to tell you something.

Ivory :What is it, mom?

Mom: Never trust. Never display your vulnerability. Never show yourself to a hunter whose eyes are secretly glued into a weak prey, waiting for a moment to devour it. Don't ever show the truth behind the lies, or the truth itself will deceive you. Now, go hide there.

Ivory: But why, mom?

Dad: Just listen to your mom!! *Put me in a cabinet*

...

I saw a group of men trespassing their house and in just a blink of an eye, she saw how brutally her parents were killed.

The horrible sight of my dead parents still haunts me every night.

It still lingers in the corners of my mind... the helpless cry of begging that comes from my mother who is already unconsciously lying on the floor, submerged in her own blood, and the wounded, heavily bruised, dead body of my dad, lying on the floor with open eyes.

Police stopped investigating and just gave up our case as they find it very difficult to solve without any lead. They left me with those unanswered questions that makes me feel so burdened, like those veiny hands strongly gripping off my heart. They left me...clueless.

Few days after, both of my parents got burried, but the painful memories are still alive, with the guilt and sadness that is slowly feeding on me...

"Is this my destiny? To live a life having no one.. Mom.. Dad.. You're now... Gone.. What am I now? How..."

From that day , I cursed as I continuously swings myself from the tire and rope that my dad made.

"Whoever killed my parents....I will be the one to find and...kill you. I will grant you peace...in hell..." I said, as I clenched my fist and grinned.
