"Anger comes with rage and leaves you with regret!"- Ifa Agnes

§ ♥♥ §

NEW YORK CITY, Three years ago...

SIMONNA RICHARDS kept stalking in the late night which was only illuminated by the night lights. The streets were silent, except for the occasional fleet of cars and the pounding in her nerves.

Though the night breeze was chill, Simone felt hot and flushed with the boiling anger that grew within her by each passing minute.

She was angry. Angry at everyone and everything and it was all because of one woman; her mother.

Simone was frustrated, aggravated, she wanted to scream her bloody mind out! Why did she even bother coming to see her? Simone had thought her mother had finally come to her senses, had highly hoped mother's eyes were finally opened to the truth and was ready to set things right.

That was the only reason she had agreed to take the flight mother had booked for yesterday and flew over from LA. Just for that man, Jack Kamari who was her mother's lover to announce their supposedly arranged engagement over evening dinner.

At first, Simone had thought it was a joke. Not until her mother confirmed it and even went as far as to slap her across the face when she began to protest.

So that was why mom called?! All this time, Simone had hoped for a change but couldn't believe it turned out to be for nothing.

All her years, Simone didn't know her mother would turn out to be quite a headstrong woman, choosing only to be absorbed by what she believed to be true which was a bloody lie!

The family did not deserve this, dad most of all.

Simone felt a painful tightening in her throat as she struggled to fight back the tears that threatened to rise out of her outburst.

She wasn't able to take everything anymore so she stormed out of the house to nowhere in particular. She wasn't sure where she was going, but decided anywhere was better than close to her mother, and much more that man.

Simone heard a honking sound as lights flashed before her.

She hadn't realized when she got to the middle of the road, and when she turned, it was too late. The force came before anything registered in her mind as she was thrown back from the heavy impact.

The next minute, she was on the cold, hard floor and for a moment, she couldn't breathe as time seemed to pause. Her mind spun as she felt the earth shake in a slight tilt beneath her.

She struggled but couldn't move, her lids were shut stubborn against her will no matter how hard she tried to open them.

Then she felt herself starting to drift away slowly, her heart slowing in steady beats. She seemed to be trapped in darkness and there was no way out...

There was something, so far away yet so close. It was a bright light at the farthest end of her tunnel and from it came a sound.

She felt the world slow and close in around her as the single sound modified into muffled noises. They weren't clear but it felt like they were trying to draw her out, but the more the energy pulled, the further she drowned into the mass fog of darkness.

'Hey...'

The sound of a ripping cloth.

'911? There's a person...'

Yes. She finally got something and held on to that energy, calling and pulling her forward to the edge. It seemed to be calling from the other side of the light.

'Mona!'

It got louder as she struggled with all she could to urge forward.

'Please!'

A sharp jab of pain shot to the back of her head in a jolt as she took in a breath, her entire body rocking in a pair of strong arms. Her hand instinctively went to the back of her head as she winced in severe pain. There was blood. Lots of it.

"Mona?" A male voice called as she struggled to pull her heavy lids open, her vision blurring as she blinked steadily.

"Mona it's me, Leo," the voice called again.

Her vision cleared to the view of teary blue eyes as she felt her limp body being lifted onto smooth sheets. Then they; which were clad in white made harsh muffled noises, pushing what she was laid on as it rolled her with a group of hurried steps.

Everything seemed to unfold in a hazy fashion as haphazard noises erupted from different people gathering around but a bit farther from her.

One minute she was angry, the next she was walking so fast she didn't notice the flashlights of an oncoming car that came with such speed, and just when she turned, momentum came faster than the honking sound, and by the next minute, it was too late as it swept her into oblivion.

"What's going on?" was all she managed to let out as she looked from Leonardo's pained face in question to the dark clouds that stretched out at the far expanse of the night sky above her.

Every quick motion blurred and the noises around her muffled as the world seemed to continue in steady slows.

Through the midst of the night's chaos, her swirling gaze caught a pair of gray eyes and for a moment, though in the farthest corner of the dark, its' stormy gaze held hers as she felt their intensity pierce deep into her soul.

What is that? She questioned in thought.

But as soon as she blinked, they were gone, her vision staring into the complete darkness.

The sound of alarms blared in her ears, flashing lights of red and orange blurred her vision as the paramedics lifted her into the back of a van.

"No te preocupes Mona, estarás bien." Don't worry Mona, you'll be fine.

She heard Leonardo say those words in comfort before the darkness took possession of her consciousness once more.
