Side story 3

I was preparing to leave and go home when Ced talked to me.

"I need to get back to Philippines."

"Oh? Why?"

"Uhm, I just need to talk to someone." She fidgeted on her seat.

"Oh, okay. How long?"

"Just a couple of days."

"Ahh. Just make sure to pass Jema everything that I need okay?"

"Yeah." She said.

Little did I know something happened back on the Philippines, that she needed to fix it for herself, in person.

"Jia, last thing we know, you just broke up with Bea and now you two are engaged?" Ced asked.

Miguel and Jia are already engaged, and they broke the news to our friends today.

"Yeah. Isn't this going a little bit fast?" Ate Ly asked both of them.

"Ly, there is nothing that I want more than in the world than Jia. I love her so much." Miguel said to them.

"You cheated Bea with him, Jia." Ced commented.

"Huh?"
"Ano?"
"Excuse me?!"
"What?!"

Jia, Miguel, Ate Ly and Ate Den exclaimed.

"Who told you that?" Miguel asked.

"Bea. She saw a text from you that you were excited for you to get back together."

"Wait wait, Ced. Nobody cheated on nobody. When was that?" Jia asked.

"When you got back from your 2nd Thailand camp."

Jia got her phone and tapped on it for a while. "She must've misunderstood. This was the text. Kaya pala nagtataka ako kung baket naka open na yung message na yan. She opened it."

"We didn't had a relationship until weeks after Bea broke up with Jia." Miguel defended.

"But she told us the whole flashing in her eyes story." Ate Ly said.

"That's what she reasoned to us, too." Ate Den added.

"It was to protect you Jia. Cause all along she thought you were cheating on her." Ced confessed. Ate Ly and Ate Den were shocked.

"We talked back on Thailand when I happened to visit there but nothing happened after that. Jia here, is truly madly crazy in love with Bea." Miguel explained.

"Look mga Ate's." Miguel shifted on his seat. "I love Jia. Yes, I did a mistake, I cheated. I had a one night stand that lead to a pregnancy of a girl, but.. never once in my life, that Jia left my mind, my heart. I love her, so much. And now that I have a chance to be with her again, I promise, I won't mess this up."

"Promise is a big word Miguel."

"I know Ly. But it's what I am holding on right now. My promises to Jia. I want to fulfill that."

"Miguel, can we talk to Jia for a second." Ate Den asked him.

"Of course." Miguel nodded and left them.

"Miguel is a good guy. Yes, I love Bea. But he, he's a part of my life. I know Miguel long enough to try this again. I want to be alive and be whole again. And he gave me that hope." She looked down on her thumbs. "Because Bea breaking up with me, it crushed me to pieces."
