It was a surprise. We turned out all the lights in the house and hid behind the furniture waiting for him to arrive home. Everything became silent when we heard his keys moving in the door. We waited until he entered, closed the door behind him and turned around before we jumped up and yelled, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKE!" And attacked him with party poppers and silly string.

Everyone else ran towards him and hugged him but I stood there for a few extra seconds when I realised he'd brought a girl with him. I'd never seen her before.

"Did you organise this?!" He asked me excitedly.

"Yeah, well, me and Mikey have been discussing it for a while," I replied.

"You're so amazing! You told me you weren't going to be home until tomorrow morning! I love you so much," he said as he put his hands on my waist and planted a kiss on my lips.

"Well I lied! By the way, who's your friend?" I asked pointing towards the girl he brought with him.

"Oh, she's here to help with the broken microphone in the studio." He replied anxiously.

"You didn't tell me anyone was coming over for that. Actually, you didn't tell me that the microphone was broken either..." I replied suspiciously.

Just as he was about to reply, a chorus of voices interrupted our conversation singing happy birthday. I quickly recovered my faded smile and joined in with the song. Calum was holding the cake and passed it to me to present to Luke.

After we finished off the last pieces of the cake, the real party started. We had strobing lights and music so load that you couldn't hear anyone else. It was great, everybody was dancing and singing along if they knew the words.

I went round asking if anyone wanted another drink when I realised that Luke wasn't even there. As I started looking around for him I also realised that his friend that he brought was nowhere to be seen either. I started searching frantically for them.

When I checked the studio they weren't there. I was about to keep searching elsewhere when I remembered how he'd said that one of the microphones was broken. I turned everything on and walked into the recording room. I stood in front of the microphone and said "hello" a few times. I walked out and played back what I'd said and the audio seemed fine to me. I also knew for a fact that no one had been in there to fix anything because it had been raining outside and I had left wet marks on the floor but there was no others. I ran back inside and as I came out of the door, Luke was escorting the girl downstairs.

"Where did you go?! I was starting to get worried, I couldn't find you anywhere!" I said frantically.

"I was just showing her where the bathroom was. Why were you worried, I was only upstairs!" He replied, looking slightly worried.

"I don't know. Oh and I see you managed to fix the microphone in the studio," I said feeling a bit worried also.

"Oh, right, yeah we went out there earlier to get it over and done with," he said nervously.

After that I tried to forget what happened, even though I knew he was lying about the microphone being broken, and tried to enjoy the rest of the night.

Ever since that party a few weeks ago he just hasn't been himself and I can't help thinking the worst. And everybody is posting a picture that looks like it was taken by Luke himself and its him and that girl kissing on the bed upstairs and she's taking his shirt off.

I keep telling myself it's photoshopped but how would anyone have gotten a picture of our bed?
