Reader's POV
It is your average day on Terria, well for me at least, and that is having the kids of my clan yelling at me to wake up.
"Daniel! Wake up! You got a duel to win today!"
"Come on! Everybody is by the river already; you're going to be late!"
My grogginess is gone in a flash, I forgot about the duel! I hop off my makeshift bed and stare at the kids.
"I'll meet you there in a bit, let me get ready. Shoo!"
They all scramble to get out of my tent as I stretch and do my wrist exercises, I walk over to the windowsill after my limbs are loose and stare at my duel disk. My opponent stupidly added using our disks to the challenge, but it's been months since we've had proper water and almost a year since my clan has had our own river; these people mean the world to me, so I can't let them down. I grab my disk, shove it into my bag and gently pick up my deck to briefly look through it. I have a Dark Magician/Blue-Eyes Deck, something I have built on my own; I thought the two archetypes had great potential together where others thought the opposite. I won my first pro league tournament with it, and people were surprised to say the least. I safely slipped it into the deck box and left.

Upon arriving to my destination, I realized the kids were not joking; everyone was there. Both clans were split in half by the river, and in the middle was my opponent, Josh.
"Nice of you to finally join us, Daniel! I was starting to think you chickened out!" Josh yelled across the rushing river, along with his clan laughing.
"Well at least a chicken has a chance of defeating me", I looked at him and smirked, "They're also more intimidating."
All laughing stopped and that is when I noticed Josh did not have any of his dueling gear on. He caught me staring.
"Change of plans, sweetheart. Someone else wants a crack at you!"
I narrowed my eyes at him, "And who might that be?"
"Don't know; all they said was they needed to duel you and he wouldn't take no for an answer."
'Most curious' I thought to myself.
"Alright then, bring him out."
My new opponent emerged from the crowd behind Josh, and my interest was increasing; all he was wearing was an old cloak that hid his entire body and his duel disk was out of date. I felt a strange connection to this man, who was he?
"I understand you might have questions, but there's no time for that. For now, you can call me...Yuma."
He activates his duel disk, and gazer? Where is this guy from?
'Something is off'', I grab my duel disk out of my bag and insert my deck, 'This isn't going to be a normal duel'.
"I don't know who you are, but you're going to regret challenging me!", The field comes to life with the number 4000 displayed above our heads.
The guy laughs, "I doubt it, Daniel."
We draw our cards and I look at my hand and chuckle, "Then it's time to rock! Let's DUEL!"
