Edward Cullen thought his relationship was perfect, at least as perfect as it can be between a vampire and a human. But didn't realize that Bella Swan started catching feelings for her best friend.
Bella realized that being with a vampire meant sacrificing so much. So she makes a tough decision and dumps her vampire boyfriend to be with her childhood best friend, Jacob Black. Which worked out perfectly since, a couple of weeks later when he shifted, Jacob imprinted on her.
After that, Edward knew he couldn't say. It hurt to see his ex-girlfriend with a new guy. Her true soulmate. So the Cullen's pack up everything and leave after that. Edward was still heartbroken but knew he had to let her go.
So, the Cullen's decide to move to West Point Washington which is only five-six hours away from Forks. Carlisle quickly got a job at the local hospital while Edward, Alice, and Jasper get enrolled to finish high school in West Point. But Edward swore off ever dating and planned to stay away from every girl there.
23-year-old, Ella Gray has been teaching at West Point Washington for two years and enjoys her job. When her college English professor offered her the opportunity to teach, Ella quickly took it. Especially since her grandparents lived there.
Overall, Ella had a simple life but never expected to catch feelings for one of her students. It was inappropriate but that still didn't stop Edward Cullen from falling in love with her.
