PROLOGUE

August, 2020

"Kitty are you ready? " I shouted so that Kitty would hear me from upstairs. I was busy fixing my watch when I heard footsteps.

"Yes daddy! " Kitty replied with too much excitement on her voice. She looks so cute wearing her pink little dress while her hair was fixed having some clips on it.

"Are you ready for your check up baby? "
"Yes! " she said while hugging her pink teddy bear tight.

I revved up the engine and started driving all the way to the hospital. As we arrived I parked the car and helped Kitty.

When Kitty was born she was diagnosed with a heart disease, but she's doing good now she just need her monthly check up. Laking gulat namin na sa murang edad niya ay kailangan niyang indahin ang ganitong sakit.

We went first to the Nurse station and asked them kung saan iyong clinic ng mga Pedriatrician. Then went to the pediatrician first before seeing her Pediatric Cardiologist.

It was weird kasi sabi ni Ali ay hindi niya rin daw kilala yung doctor she just told me that her friend referred this doctor, Ali did not even tell me the name of the Doctor she just gave me a piece of paper kung saan nakasulat iyong pangalan ng ospital pati narin iyong Room Number at floor ng Clinic.

I was busy searching for the clinic when Kitty dropped her toy. I picked it up for her and when I was already standing Kitty was nowhere to be found.

I keep on walking para hanapin siya then I found her standing in front of a clinic door.

I ran towards her and checked if she's okay. Pinagsabihan ko siya but Kitty just smiled at me and pointed the door.

" Daddy i think this is my Doctor's clinic. I found it Daddy!" she said with a smile on her face.

I looked at the door and smiled at her too then nodded. Bago ako kumatok tiningnan ko muna iyong plate sa gilid ng pinto para naman alam ko kung ano ang itatawag ko sa Doctor.

But my heart went crazy for a second when I saw the name that was engraved in a silver plate on the side of the door.

Dr. Zianne Marie Quizon M.D (Pediatric Cardiologist)

Hiindi pa man ako nababalik sa katinuan ay biglang bumukas iyong pinto at bumungad ang isang babaeng nakasuot ng puting uniporme. "Good Morning Sir. Magpapacheck up ho?"

Tumango na lamang ako saka kami pumasok. I sat down when the Doctor's Assistant started recording Kitty's name and etc. I looked at the door in front of me thinking about her.

When the Assistant was done she told me to bring Kitty inside the Doctor's clinic. I knocked twice so that she will know that someone is about to get inside.

When I opened the door i found nothing but an empty clinic, my eyes started to move from right to left I saw certificates, trophies, and plaques of recognition inside a glass cabinet. Ipinagpatuloy ko ang pagtitig hanggang sa narinig kong bumukas iyong pintuan.

"Good Morning Mr. have a se--" hindi niya natapos iyong sasabihin niya nung lumingon ako. I stared at her face and tried to memorize every corner of it. Dahil baka ito nanaman ang huling beses na makita ko siya.

After 7 years she's still beautiful.But all I can feel now is the pain she caused me. She started to panic,and i can sense it. Pilitin niya mang hindi ipahalata. "Good Morning Dr. Quizon, I am Dr. Augustus Ferrer"

She stared at me for a minute not saying anything. I looked at her as she began to walk towards her table.

Nung makaupo siya ay tiningnan niyang muli ako. Iyong tingin na para bang hindi niya ako iniwan sa kawalan, iyong tingin na para bang kahit minsan ay di niya ako minahal.
