Night Five

There were only six people left.

Feeling speechless, hopeless, upset, and afraid were becoming all too numb. It felt as though Night Five, and all other nights, were all the same in a never ending loop.

"How is any of this really happening?" Namjoon whispered, surrounded by the others who were gathered in the office. Hoseok sat on the floor in the corner, Chaeah and Jungkook stayed behind the monitor, Jackson peeked in the ventilation, and Jordan laid still.

"I wanted to pretend it wasn't real at first," Hoseok admitted. "But it's real," he whispers.

"Hoseok, how did we lose her?" Chaeah asked, causing Hoseok to lift his head. "You were in the bathroom for a while, weren't you? What happened?"

It took a moment for Hoseok to respond, "to be honest...I only wanted to show her that I loved her. And that, even if our lives would end, we'd be together."

"Hoseok...what do you mean?" Namjoon asked, sitting up.

"Hobi..." Jordan whispered, and Hoseok panicked. "I was, we were—kissing," he scrambled.

"Kissing?"

Hoseok gulped, "maybe, a little more than that?"

Before anyone could speak up, Jungkook stood up from his seat.

"Jungkook," Chaeah warned, but he only ignored her.

"You couldn't have kept it in your damn pants, could you?" Jungkook complained and Hoseok smacked his teeth. "Listen—"

"I'm tired of listening. It's time to start taking more control," Jungkook rolled his neck around in a circle. "I want all of you out of the room."

"But Jungkook, this conversation can't be over yet," Jackson argued. "I said it's over, so it is. I want you all out of the room; it's 1 already," Jungkook replied.

"What? Already?" Hoseok glanced at the clock nearby, lifting it off of the desk in both of his hands.

Chaeah also peeked at the clock, "but Jungkook, I don't want to leave you alone here."

"I already made up my mind. Leave, all of you," he repeats, making his way back to his seat. Though he was stopped by Namjoon who grabbed the back of the chair and pulled it back.

"Think this through...being separated isn't what we need."

"It's what I need," Jungkook glared. "And when I say all of you, I mean all of you."

Jordan brought himself into a sitting-up position, worrying Chaeah who ran over to his side. "You don't mean him too...right?"

Jungkook chose not to answer, which was an answer enough.

"I'll be...fine," Jordan assured, trying to show a smile. Chaeah knew better.

His arm wrapped over her shoulders, and he teasingly nuzzled his forehead against the side of her head. As much as Chaeah wanted to laugh, she knew he was in pain. He wasn't as good at hiding as he thought.

As much as the group wanted to argue, they left the room despite it. Jungkook watched the group continue down the main hallway.

"I know I'm supposed to be the hopeful one," Hoseok began. "But for some reason, I had the feeling things would become worse and worse."

"Really?" Chaeah asked.

"Yes," Hoseok frowned further. "But I kept myself in denial. I didn't want to scare her, or make her feel hopeless either."

"Jisoo?" Chaeah asked once more, and he sighed.

"But Hoseok—out of everything, you took her to the bathroom right after Jin had died?" Jackson asked. "I thought you were like brothers."
