' He thinks I'm their intended bride?! Sorry... But, WHAT THE ACTUAL FISHHH?! '"Er, you must excuse me, but... what are you talking about?" she blurted out, confusion bubbling up as Lord Tsukasa had suddenly declared her some sort of match.
Lord Tsukasa stared at her for a moment, as if a lightbulb had just flickered on in his head. Then, with a soft sigh, he flashed that charming, devilish smile that made (Y/N)'s heart race and her brain stall.
"Hurmm~ No matter how long I waited yesterday, that woman didn't show up. The only woman I encountered at that high-class establishment was you~ ♡ Right? Right? Were you coming to see what sort of man I am? I suppose that's why you left without giving your name, eh?" His tone was casual, as if he were discussing the weather instead of trying to pin her down as his bride.
'What??? That's his reasoning?!!' She was speechless. 'Come on! Don't jump to conclusions like that!'
"Wait a moment here! Your potential BRIDE-TO-BE is a woman of noble birth, is she not?" she asked, desperation creeping into her voice as she tried to clear up the misunderstanding.
"So I hear," he replied nonchalantly, shrugging as if it were the most casual thing in the world.
"RIGHT! So, would it not be rather odd for someone of such social standing to be working at a tiny, family-owned restaurant?" She gestured around the modest establishment as if it were the most absurd idea ever conceived.
"Hmmm~ I hear she's an uninhibited girl as well~," he added, his usual mischievous grin widening.
'Is he trying to suggest I'm some brazen hussy?!' Her jaw nearly dropped at the implication.
"Even so, I very much doubt she would deign to work at a rustic place such as this one..." Lord Tsukasa smirked, clearly enjoying her discomfort.
Perplexed, she turned toward Lord Amane for support. Instead, she was met with a dimpled smile that seemed to promise mischief.
"Yes, true," Lord Amane chimed in, still grinning. She could practically see the playfulness in his eyes.
"Which part...?" she asked, bewildered. The brothers were making her head spin. She felt like she was caught in a whirlwind of confusion.
'What a breezy response. Does this man realize there's been a genuine misunderstanding here?!'
Despite her skeptical gaze, Lord Amane's smile gave nothing away.
"However," he continued, "I hear she's the sort of woman who mingles with the townsfolk and enjoys working. A free spirit, if I must say."
"Hmmm~ Amaaaaneeeeee~ Good point~! There must be a reason why she works, at any rate~ That's MY AMANE!" Lord Tsukasa sang, wrapping his arm around his brother's shoulders like they were a comedic duo on stage.
'Great, now I'm stuck between two ridiculous brothers who clearly enjoy the chaos they're creating.'
She sighed, realizing the conversation was only getting more tangled. "I'm just a normal girl trying to live peacefully and become a talented chef in my family's restaurant!" she protested, waving her arms dramatically as if to punctuate her point.
"Ah, a talented chef, you say?" Lord Tsukasa mused, raising an eyebrow. "That sounds like an admirable pursuit! But maybe it could use a touch of... noble flair~?"
"Oh, for the love of—" she started, but her words got lost in the ruckus as they both erupted into laughter, leaving her feeling a mix of embarrassment and amusement.
