I've been wishin' for somethin
Missin to fill this empty space
"Hey, Yug'," Joey Wheeler, my best friend called out to me after school. "Hey," I said dully. "What's got ya so down?" he asked me. A lot, I wanted to say. "I just feel like everywhere I go, there's always a missing space, and I don't like my life like that," is what I said instead. Why make my best friend feel down? It's not my place.
To show the person behind the curtain
So you'll understand
Who I really am
I feel like I'm hiding behind a curtain. People always ignore me. No one understands who I really am. I just...I wish they did. I don't wanna be all alone all the time. I don' treally have a choose, though. Do I?
The me that you don't see
Is prayin there's a chance
You still believe
"It's just...well...it feels like people don't see the real me. Like, when they look at me, they just see a small sophomore in high school," I said, about to cry. "Is Yami ignoring you again?" Joey asked me as my other 'friend' walked by and bumped into me. He acted as if he didn't bump into anything and just kept going. "Yes. I just hope he still believes that I'll always be there for him more than Tea will," I answered.
Tell me that I'm worth it
I'll prove that I deserve it
And I can be
The me that you don't see
"You sure will," Joey said with a smile. I gave a half-hearted smile back. "He needs to tell you that you're worth it. Worth time in this world. Worth being his friend. He hasn't been a really good friend," Joey said. "I'm sure you'd prove that you deserve it," I heard my twin brother say from behind me. It sounded like he had a scowl on his face. I nodded. "I would, Heba," I said in response. "I could be the me that no one sees."
This dream that we're facing
Is so amazing
And I want to fit in
All my other friends, Anzu, Kaiba, Mokuba, Bakura, Ryou, Marik, and Malik, came and joined into our conversation. "We're all facing an amazing dream, Yugi," Anzu said. "We all want to fit in, but you and I fit in least of all," I heard Ryou say.
My whole life
I wanted to be
A part of something
"Our whole life, Marik and I have wanted to be a part of something. You gave thatto us," Bakura said. Ismiled. This truly is an amazing group of friends. Maybe the space around me isn't so empty after all.
I'm reachin' out my hand
I'll show you that I can, oh
I saw Yami walking back to the car. I reached my hand out towards him. "I'll show him that I can." The group cheered me on.
The me that you don't see
Is prayin' there's a chance
You still believe
"There's a part of me that he doesn't see. That part is praying that he still believes. In what? I don't know. Maybe that I'm here for him. Or that I still care. Maybe even something else... I don't know, but it prays that he still believes," I said as Yami walked to his car.
Tell me that I'm worth it
I'll prove that I deserve it
And I can be
The me that you don't see
"Yami!" I heard Malik call out. Yami turned around. Kaiba joined in. Mister 'I don't care about anything but work and Mokuba', helped me. "Tell him that he's worth it," he said. Mokuba said, "He'll prove that he deserves it!" Then, all of my friends joined together in shouting, "He can be the him that you don't see!" I smiled.
To be standin' tall
No shadows at all
That's all I really wanna do
Yami walked towards us. "All he wants is to stand tall. He doesn't want any shadowsat all. You're his Yami. He's your Hikari. Only you can do that," Heba said as his Yami, Atemu, Yami's twin, walked up. "What did he do?" Atemu asked. He looked at our friends' faces and he could tell. "He's been ignoring you, hasn't he?" We all nodded.
To be a cirle of one
Stepping into the sun
"Yami, shouldn't he be your circle of one? Shouldn't you be helping him step into the sun?" Atemu asked.
Sharing the light that's here with you
I'm here with you, oh woah
He...he...he should be sharing the light that's here with him. I'm the light that's here with him. I'm his Hikari...
The me that you don't see
Is praying there's a chance
You still believe
Tell me that I'm worth it
I'll prove that I deserve it
I can be the me that youdon't see
"Please, Yami. I'm begging you. I shouldn't have to, but I will prove to you that I deserve to be worth something to you. I can be the me that youdon't see," I said.
Oh woah
I'm prayin' there's a chance
You still believe
Tell me that I'm worth it
I'll prove that I deserve it
And I can be
The me that you don't see.
"Please, Yami. I am praying there's a chance, the tiniest sliver of a chance, that you believe. Just...just tell me that I am worth it. Worth anything at all.I will prove that I deserve it. I will be the me that you don't see." Yami smiled. "Of course I still believe. You are worth everything. What part ofyou do you think I don't see?" he asked. I smiled to. "I...I...love you," I said. Yami smiled. "I love you too," he said.
