Kai x Adam shorts

Mini game

story explanation: this takes place after they finished season two. weirdy sees that they are all bored of life in the hollow simulation world and sets up a mini level they can do with little challenges.

They had been playing the new game for about eleven hours already and were close to half way done. Kai and Adam have both grown increasingly nervous around each other and the others were starting to notice.

Kai pov:
We were walking through the woods when Reeve pointed out a box like building in the distance. We had been walking for a long time since the last challenge and we were excited to finally have another one.

When we reached the building we slowed our run to a walk. Adam went up to it and opened the door. It was attractive how brave he was. One by one we all slowly walked into the tall, small, pitch black room.

Adam pov:
I opened the door and walked inside, everyone slowly followed me. Once Kai finally made his way in the door slammed shut behind him. He screamed and grabbed my arm, shaking. I was about to tell him it was ok when a single lightbulb flickered on.

I looked up at the bulb, then back down to face the rest of the group. They were all staring at me, Mira trying not to laugh while Reeve and Vanessa crossed their arms and looked away. "Um Kai? You can let go now". Kai's eyes grew wide and he blushed, letting go of my arm. "Right, yeah sorry i'm just scared. Well like i'm not scared i'm just... making sure you didn't freak out like you always do". I gave him a non convinced look and Mira giggled.

The ground shifted suddenly and the tiles started falling. Vanessa fell into a tube in the floor, Reeve fell into a different tube, and then Mira fell into her own tube. Kai re-grabbed my arm as we both fell straight down, no tube. I woke up and stared into the  huge opening i had just fell from. My head hurt and my back felt sore and bruised.

I sat up carefully and looked around, seeing Kai do the same out of the corner of my eye, he was the only other person with me. We were in a spacious, dimly lit room in the shape of a square. In three of the walls there were the type of tinted one way windows you see from cop shows, and one wall was just solid concrete.

Kai pov:
Against the wall without a window, there was an old crappy wood table. I stood all the way up and walked over to it, across the table there was a boom box and some papers. On the papers there were shoe marks and arrows, they looked like they somehow connected but i'm not the best at puzzles.

Adam joined me at the table and chuckled a little, picking up the papers and arranging them on the floor. "Weirdy, you sure do know how to make the nickname fit" Adam said with a smile. I gave him a confused look and asked "Not that I disagree, but what do you mean".

Adam got up from the floor and pointed at the papers. "It's a dance, we have to follow the footsteps and complete the dance in order to pass the challenge". Did he just say dance? Not that I was freaking out but I was freaking out.

"I don't dance. I can't dance, I suck at it! Are you sure that's what we have to do"? Adam put his hand on my shoulder to slow my breathing. "It's pretty obvious that's what we have to do Kai, I love dancing and I actually know this one so I can help you".

Adam positioned us on the papers. "Take your arms and put them around my neck. Don't focus on the papers too much, just look at me". I did what he said and he put his hands on my hips, making me shiver.

He was about to question it when the lights dimmed even more and the boom box began to play. Gustavs voice began to bounce off the walls as a recording of him singing I'm a creep I'm a weirdo came on. Adam started to dance, forcing me to dance as well.

Mira pov:
I sat in the only chair in this little closet like room and watched the boys dance through a window. I could hear the music and, not gonna lie, Weirdy's voice was really good. I sighed and smiled as I watched Kai struggle and Adam help him.

I was way over Adam, now that we have our memories back I remembered my thing with Skeet. I started to cry at the thought of him, I really missed him. I had watched Adam and Kai grow close and noticed their crushes on one another over time and it always made me think of Skeet.

I pushed the sad thoughts aside and focused on the dance. The room they were in was very romantic, dimly lit, just the two of them, music, and the already existing romantic tension between the boys. Now that Kai had gotten down the basic steps Adam began to twirl and dip him, making me laugh.

Reeve pov:
I was pounding on the glass and yelling at Kai. I've liked Adam for a while and watching him and Kai grow close has made me sick. If that wasn't bad enough now they were slow dancing together.

"BACK OFF OF HIM KAI, OR I WILL FUCK YOU UP, I'LL KILL YOU"! I stopped pounding and rested my head against the glass, closing my eyes. I started to sob, why did Weirdy put them in there together and not Adam and me?

Vanessa pov:
I took my hands off the glass and turned away from the window. I backed up and slid down the wall, pulling my knees into a hug. I've liked Kai for a while now and I thought we had something but I knew it was too good to be true.

I could see him and Adam starting to catch feelings, but I had hoped he was just trying to make me jealous. Some tears slid down my face and I covered my ears, not wanting to hear them laugh. It was no use, the music just turned up louder.

I unplugged my ears and the song was almost over. I sighed and pushed myself up off the floor. Wiping the back of my jeans off, I turned around. The music stopped, my breathing stopped, everything stopped. The world seemed to completely slow down and I turned pale, gasping and widening my eyes.

Adam pov:
The song ended and I brought Kai up from another dip, we looked deep into each others eyes. We slightly laughed while breathing heavily, not removing our hands from their dance positioning. Kai smirked and jokingly said "Um Adam? You can let go now". He started to laugh but stopped when he saw my face hadn't changed.

"I don't want to". I couldn't help it and I pulled him in for a kiss. He instantly kissed me back, grabbing the back of my head with his hand. It was better than I ever imagined, passionate, real, and romantic. We pulled away a few moments later and smiled while still breathing heavily.

Before we could do anything else, the table began to shake. It broke and fell to the floor, a portion of the wall behind it soon following, exposing a long dark tunnel. Then the three windows all started wobbling and they shattered, revealing Mira, Reeve, and Vanessa. I opened my eyes wide and tightened my grip on Kai.

Kai pov:
Adam tightened his grip on my waist and back as his eyes grew wide, I opened my mouth to speak but stopped when I saw Reeve. Nobody said a word, Mira silently hopped through the hole, landing on a pile of broken glass. Reeve and Vanessa slowly did the same and they all made their way over to us.

Adam was still not moving from shock, he was just staring at the floor. Mira finally spoke, "I knew you two had a thing going on". She smiled at me and started to laugh, I laughed back. Nobody else made a sound and Mira and I's laughter awkwardly died down.

"Let's just get going" Reeve muttered, pushing his was between us and walking to the tunnel, pulling his flashlight out of the satchel he was carrying. Vanessa silently followed, looking at the ground and crossing her arms, Mira sighed and did the same. After they were a little ways ahead Adam finally looked up at me.

He started to laugh, causing me to laugh too. He cupped his hand around my chin and smiled. "That was perfect Kai". I smiled back "Yeah it was... I love you Adam". I bit my lip, surprised I just said that. "I love you too Kai", Adam pulled me into another kiss. When he pulled away, he grabbed my hand and we walked down the tunnel together.
