April and I had sat at lunch the next day. Her and I practically had all our classes together. She was talking about some new guy she was dating. Evidently I didn't care, she was constantly going around with different guys who normally shared the same name: Luke. They hardly lasted more than two weeks, and she claimed to love them all. I guess you could say she was a slut but she didn't sleep around hell she was still a virgin. April knew about my matchmaking ability due to the fact that I was guilty of getting her with half the Luke's she ended up with. So, granted she should be allowed to talk about them to me. It was getting old, we went through the same routine daily. I was getting tired and bored and high school was supposed to be fun. It was time for me to spice things up a bit.

Phil was quite an awkward guy and he couldn't tell Avery liked him. I knew if I dropped some hints Avery would probably get annoyed so I was going to have to get approval from her in order to go forth with my plan. Phil had a clan of friends and one of them, Bryan, happened to be dating one of the colorguard girls so he was my way in to become true friends with Phil. I got to know him and he was truly a funny guy. I learned him and Avery had exchanged numbers and had been texting almost non stop it made my heart happy knowing they were happy as cheesy as it sounds. April knew about it too because I told her everything.

April had been helping me when Avery had messaged me suddenly,

"PHIL FACETIMED ME UNTIL I FELL ASLEEP"

That was so cute and I started to get jealous I simply replied with,

"Aww <3"

And turned off my notifications that was enough cuteness for today, and I carried on listening to my friends Rena and Leah tell their stories of relationships in the past. For the rest of the day I felt down and I couldn't put my finger on why. I assume I was just quite lonely although, I had my own fair share of admirers if I do say so myself.

Avery, Phil, and I continued our daily group chat it became sort of routine to talk after school. It was like I had my close group of friends once again. I was truly a part of something! Phil was a senior at our school and seniors and freshman hardly ever dated so if I had got them together it would be a bloody miracle, but somehow I got the miracle to come true.

I think Avery got tired hearing about some girl Phil had been into and told him the truth. I'm still not quite sure to this day how that all really went down. All I know was instead of getting my usual group message I had gotten a private one just from Phil,

"Did you know Avery liked me?"

I read it and he saw that I did so I couldn't not respond,

"Yea I did, it took you long enough."

To this he didn't respond.

His best friend Bryan had been egging him on for weeks trying to get him to realize Avery's attraction to him. Even Bryan wanted it to happen, so it did. Phil confessed. He had feelings for Avery and he didn't even realize it! I was so happy but again the jealousy burned within me, so I logged out from our group chat no longer willing to be a third wheel.
