Tuesday, in the Clubroom

Our first time doing something as a club... I felt excited, scared, happy, in other words I was a big mix mash of emotions. As if someone who sucks at cooking suddenly decided to create a new recepy, during which they add potatoes, corn, a block of salt, some vanilla essence, a sack of flour, icing sugar and Cajun spices. And made someone eat the atrocity. And I was that someone.

I feel bad for anyone who may have had to suffer through that.

The club activity was a surprising letdown. All we did was surf the web for all the types of supernatural creatures and make a list. Though the list itself is amazing. The variety of Supernaturals out there is astonishing. Basically, there are three groups under which all of them fit; mythology, folklore and fairy tales. I won't include the 'new' creatures that people have come up with in stories, but you should know that any creature that originated from a single original 'myth', lore or tale I call real. They just won't show up in the list. (Issa-san is an example of a derived Griffon myth).

Under the three categories you have Animals and creatures associated with them, then Artificial creatures (animated objects or human-made things/beings/machines), then body parts and those associated with them (for example, blood for vampires, hair for Medusa), then Concepts and those associated with them (for example the Evil Eye or Immortality), the Elements and those associated with them (for example, Earth and the Golem), habitats and creatures associated with them (the sea and the Kraken), humanoids, hybrids, astronomical objects and those associated with them (for example the moon and werewolves, the sun and the phoenix), then shape shifters, the world, plants and those associated with them (for example, dryads and trees), the time (night and the vampire), the undead (ghosts), etc. There are also those whose species are types as well, such as Djinn, fae, demons, Yokai, monsters, familiars and so on.

The sheer size of the task we face is terrifying me. We are going to tackle every type and make lists with short descriptions of each and every supernatural creature out there. And we will then compile them and add advice for people as to how we should react to get safely out of trouble.

Though everything should go fine if all we do is research... but I am really, Really, Really not looking forward to coming up with solutions as to save oneself. There are tons of Beings out in the forest that I try not to run into, out of fear of getting attacked. I won't hide the fact I have an insane amount of spiritual energy that I use to defend myself and attack with. I can actually confidently say I am as strong as T'Ko. But the problem is that I lose a week of my life for every minute I spend that energy.

I can't truly control it. I can use the bare minimum every day, since I have a Seal (that Granma put on me since I was born). I have to tie my hair up. Be it a tiny strand or all my hair, it has to be tied up. I'm not too sure why she came up with it, but it was the kind of thing that must be decided on the spot. I'm just glad it isn't too inconvenient. So, I can go up some really strong Beings out there, but there are some that I wouldn't have a chance to get away from. There are also some who are illogical.

The world that Shadows Reality is dangerous. Very much so.

And its not as much about me trying to keep everyone away from my deep dark secret that I do this, but to try to keep them safe. My secret can't hurt them. It could potentially make them abandon me, but it won't hurt them as much as walking into the shadows will.

And I know they will eventually.
