I woke up with a start, and observed my surroundings. I was on a ridiculously soft and warm bed and all of my surroundings were either white or pink. The room blinded me. It seemed the sun had just come up. I did not waste any time and began to document everything I knew about this world in case I ever forget.
I opened a notebook, probably the former Adalyn's diary and began to scribble away.

The 1st prince of the former generation, Alfred, became Emperor and married Marquis Dorset's daughter, Penelope, and had a new 1st prince who later became the current emperor ,Alistair .
Penelope died in childbirth when she gave birth to Alistair and this forced Alfred marry a new empress, who was Duke Lars's daughter, Camilla. Camilla deeply loved Alfred but he hated her and Alfred later died because his heart could not move on from Penelope's death. Camilla treated Alistair very well because she knew he was going to be the next emperor and he looked very much like Alfred. After Alfred died his two younger brothers, Andrew and Ares, aimed for the throne, but because of Alistair they could not get the throne. As Alistair was still young, Camilla governed the Kingdom, however Andrew and Ares still wanted the throne for themselves. Alistair was smart and likable so the majority supported him, there was a minority who didn't but they were too weak to cause a rebellion.
Andrew and Ares pressured the empress into getting another emperor, eventually she obliged and was forced to marry Marquis Pedro's son, Peter, who was merely a puppet controlled by Andrew and Ares. She then gave birth to the 2nd prince, Adalyn's father, the Grand Duke, Astros. Camilla despised Astros as she was forced to give birth to him and he wasn't Alfred's child. This caused Alistair to pity him and although the two were not blood related they developed an unbreakable bond of sworn brothers. Camilla died a few months after Alistair was of age and had become emperor. Alistair then put Peter, Andrew and Ares to death as well as other nobles who were plotting to rebel. Astros was given the title of Grand Duke.
And that is why it is perfectly alright for the third prince and Adalyn to have been married or engaged.
Adalyn's family had a standing army only second to the Royal Army's forces. She was pampered by her parents but they were still strict when it came to her lessons, being the only heir meant she had to do lady's training as well as politics and sword fighting. At the age of 8 her father adopted a son to become the heir instead because the original Adalyn sucked at marksmanship and did not understand politics at all, however the third prince would be then awarded the title of Arch Duke if her married Adalyn.
