"Good game everyone." said coach Barns as the lacrosse team started to walk into the locker room. "First win of the season." Coach Baker exclaimed " Maybe we might actually make it to the tournaments this year." The coach added not long after another comment was made"Maybe if Brian stops hogging the ball." That comment got a laugh from the whole team. "You're one to talk, Lance, at least he's got aim." said Sebastian earning another laugh from the group.
"Hey, are you going to the dance?" Oliver asked Sebastian. Sebastian didn't answer as he threw his bag over his shoulder and walked out of the locker room.
Oliver only bit his lip as he watched his friend walk out of the locker room "fuck me" He mumbled under his breath as he slammed his hand against the locker that sat next to his. Knowing that he had fucked up but also knowing that he did not regret what had happened really conflicted Oliver. But he chose to ignore it as he finished packing his bag exiting the locker room to find his sister so they could drive home. As soon as he walked out he spotted her calling out to her shortly after.
"Let's go Shelby" He said as he walked past the group of cheerleaders his sister had been talking to hearing his sister say ''see ya" and run up next to him. He smiled gently at his sister as she wrapped an arm around his neck with a smile.
"Good win ay?" She asked as he pulled out of the neck hold she had him in as he nodded in reply not really in the mood to talk about the game. Other things were swarming in his mind and he still had to make it home before truly thinking about them.
"Why are you being a grouch?" She questioned as she tossed Oliver the keys to their small mini cooper that had been handed down from their mom. He only rolled his eyes as he unlocked the car allowing both of them to throw their stuff in the back seat and hop into the front seats.
"I dunno, just a long day" He said as he wore a plain face as he pushed his keys into the car's ignition twisting it before he buckled his seat belt hearing the click signal that it had been fastened.
"Oliver you know you can tell me literally anything?" He heard his sister say as he put the car in reverse pulling out of the narrow parking space before completely pulling out of the parking lot and down the street in the direction of their house.
"Well some things I would just rather keep to myself" He said as he seemed to be speeding as all he wanted to do was get home and forget about the unforgettable moment that changed everything. It was so stupid of him. He sniffled a bit as he took a turn onto their street where they drove in silence slowly pulling into the driveway of the middle class home allowing them to both hop out and grab their stuff.
"Amelia is coming over so loose the attitude" Shelby said as she walked towards the front door with her eyes glued to her phone, her thumbs simply gliding across the screen without a care in the world. He rolled his eyes as the name fell from his lips, he truthfully found no interest in Amelia and didn't see how his best friend could date such a brat in the first place. It made him gag to think about them actually together since they both used to deeply dislike her.
"Whatever" He replied to his sister following her through the front door where he would drop his stuff and flop onto the couch sitting on his phone until Amelia would arrive and ruin the peace.
While he sat on his phone contemplating even showing up to the after party he heard the subtle knocks at the door making him roll his eyes as he knew who it was. He walked over to the door opening it to reveal a hor- I mean Amelia. She said hello but the boy didn't feel the need to make small talk.
"Shelby!, Amelias here" He called out in the direction of where his sister's room was before proceeding back to the couch flopping back down to proceed through his thoughts about the dance and the party and all that mess. He heard his sister mention his name as he called up after them "I can hear you, ya know!"
He rolled his eyes as he had no one to go with to this said dance anyways so might as well just wait to go to the after party. The after parties are probably better than the original anyways. He didn't really have the huge desire to go to the dance anyways, well he did but he would never admit with whom. That's when a notification filled the top of his screen, a text from Sebastian. He quickly opened it seeing as he was asking if he would be going to the dance.
Nah, maybe after party tho
He texted with a sigh as he heard his sister obsessing over some dress that Amelia was probably wearing... Just wanna point out Shelby could be friends with literally anyone yet chose Amelia... Anyways. He sat up on the couch biting his lip as he stood up going to get a snack since he had just run around for almost an hour and a half for lacrosse.
"Junk food, Junk food, Junk food, Junk food" He whispered to himself before seeing a baggy of baby carrots sitting in the fridge that his mom had left him. "HEalthy it is" He mumbled as he grabbed the bag opening it with a sigh as he crunched into a couple of them eating them as he scrolled through instagram seeing how everyone looked for the dance that night.
"Damn" He mumbles as people were all dressed up for a dance that everyone would leave early from just to get to the after party fashionably late in a totally different outfit. Might as well just stay home at that rate. He continued scrolling through his feed crunching on the carrots with a chuckle as some of the meme pages he followed were posting as well. Usually he would forward these through to Sebastian but it probably wasn't the time.
At any rate Oliver was exhausted from that game and smelled absolutely horrendous. So naturally he chose to pass out on the couch before doing anything about his stench and deciding to deal with it later before the after party.
