I had Stargate SG-1 on Hulu playing while I focused on my college paper, ever since I was little I wanted to be able to travel to other planets and explore them.
Of course that's more of a pipe dream considering NASA has not traveled farther then Mars in her own time. She always loved Farscape, Stargate and shows like that.
It's not that I'm not smart - I am, it's just unless I'm writing a thesis or a paper I can't get things out right. A written test? I'm so terrible at tests that it's not even slightly funny. My mind just goes bbbllllllaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.
Those type of adventures are just dreams and to be honest perhaps it'd be better if she doesn't end up involved in those kind of situations.
It is kind of funny how she shares a last name with Sam Carters ex fiancé though. Though her skin doesn't match his even slightly and the guy becomes like a total Wack.
By now it was late out, I had just gotten done with my physics assignment and I need to work on my Physical Science assignment next. It'll be a long night. I rub my eyes tiredly and sigh.
Tomorrow night I have work at the diner down the street on top of doing my homework that I get assigned. It's never ending, but it'll be worth it.
I was doing my homework when the ground started to shake beneath me. I freeze in surprise and sigh again before it's gone. Fucking Earthquakes.
When I got halfway done with my assignment a vortex appears in front of me. I rub my eyes, I must be really, really fucking tired because there's no way I'm seeing an almost Stargate looking thing in front of my coffee table.
I just sit there frowning at it. I've seen enough horror movies to know that if I touch that I'm going to end up dead so, No Thank You. Or will whatever comes out of it kill me? Eh, that's a possibility too.
So I grab my text book and walk over towards my most likely death, honestly as long as an xenomorph doesn't come out of there I should, hopefully? Be okay? Maybe.
I stick my textbook into it and then pull it away. When nothing happens I back away slowly. But then I get sucked in, literally.

VortexAll I remember is a shit ton of spinning and feeling like someone was trying to squeeze me into a little tiny tube, NOT my idea of a good time.
I squeeze my textbook to my chest as tightly as I can to try to steady myself. It didn't really help at all though.

Stargate SG-1Next thing I know I'm laying on something solid and unfortunately cold on my face. I don't hear anything for a few minutes before I see Lieutenant George Hammond standing to the side as I have tons of guns pointed at me.
I look around with a frown and then lay back on the ground "flat lovely earth." I mutter "sorta, solid fictional world, why is my luck so terrible?"
"Do not move" I hear Hammond order, I have no intention to, I'm contemplating my life choices right now.
"Don't intend to sir" I say out loud "that shit was wicked though, if I told my college friends that I went through a damn vortex into a fictional world they'll think I was mad."
I'm heaved off the ground after they handcuff me. I hold in a sigh and an ouch, cause really, rough much? Rude.
Hammond looks over me with a frown on his face "How did you get through the Stargate?"
"Well, I was doing my homework" I say gesturing with my head towards my lonely textbook that's laying on the concrete floor "then a vortex appeared in my room and I brought my book with me for protection see? Just in case an Xenomorph came out of something all Aliens style and killed me. Then I got sucked into this . .fictional place."
