Chapter 16: The Slightest Separation

Lumine's P.O.V.

"I-is that true?" I said as I looked at Aiden. He looked at me in worry. He put his phone back to his ear.

"Yea I gotta go...K, bye." He said as he hung up the phone. He looked at me.

"Yes Lumine, it is true. They are still there. A few months ago, they went to go find you and Kody. They found a house and went in. That house was where those two people were staying. They captured Elijah and Calla."

I couldn't believe it. I thought it was weird that they weren't in school for a while. But why didn't Aiden get them.

"Wait, why didn't you get them?"

"Well...you see, I tried. I was gonna get them before I left. The only problem was they knew of my arrival and called Kody's mom; A witch that is stronger than me. I managed to teleport the two to prison. His mom left and called for reinforcements. I had to leave as soon as I could. I'm sorry Lumine. I didn't want you to hear about this-"

I stopped him. "It's fine, I understand. I know you couldnt do anything about it."

"Ok Lumine, it's late now. I think you should go to bed now."

"Ok, goodnight Aiden."

"Goodnight Lumine."

I can't sleep. I can't stop thinking about what Aiden said. The thought me keep playing in my mind like a broken record. I sit up.

'What should I do? Should I do something? I mean they don't deserve this. I should go help them. But what about Kody and Aiden. They will never let me go. I should just go now. I will be ok. Right?'

I spring up. 'Wait, was I sleeping?' I got up and started to pack a small backpack. I put some clothes, and one of Kody's shirts. To help me fell better because it smells like him. I feel sad for leaving and going into the unknown. But I want to help.

I open my door and walk out. I walk by Kody's room and reach my the stairs. I started to go down the stairs when—

"L-Lumine?"

'Shit, it's Kody.'

"W-What are you doing? Where are you going?" I stood there in shock, not knowing what to say. I then feel his arms wrap around my waist. I feel him press against my back. I turn around and kissed him around an the forehead.

"Don't worry Kody, I'll be back. I promise." He hugged me harder.

"Don't leave Lumine, your the only thing I have," he said with tears eyes.

I kiss Kody. "Don't worry babe. I'll be back soon. Pinky promise." I say as I hold up my pinky.

Kody smiles as he crossed his pinky with mine. "Your so childish." He says as he runs his fingers through my hair. I begin to walk to the door. Kody follows.

As we reach the door, I hug Kody.

"I love you Kody."

"I love you too Lumine."

We passionately kissed before I then walked out.
