CHAPTER 16

"excuse me ladies"

Abeer's deep voice is more than enough to evoke zaara's past fears. she stood there clutching kajal's wrist as if her life depends on it as she saw abeer getting down from his car and approaching her.

"kajal,pls do something"she begs fixing her eyes down at the ground. Kajal pulls zaara and runs towards the opposite direction only to be stopped by tushar's speeding car.

"we are caught man!..both east and west are blocked by these monsters, north and south are blocked by these beautiful trees...in short we are fked"kajal exclaimed.

"i can see that kajal" zaara whimpers seeing abeer nearing her.

"shall we go to the wedding zaara?"abeer asks politely.

"I wa..an..t to go ho..me" zaara stammers as she could feel his intense gaze.

"well which one....mumbai...or...jaipur?"abeer asks cockily which makes zaara and kajal  look at him in surprise.

"wondering how i got to know?...well thats a long story...we can discuss that on our way...now lets go" abeer declares and pulls zaara towards his car with kajal walking behind her.

"ohhhh nooo noo  kajal...you are coming along with me in my car...dont you think these love birds need some privacy?..they have been seperated for soo long..now let them enjoy" tushar yells from his car.

"you assholes are going to pay for this...i swear"kajal mutters to herself and walks towards tushar's car.

"pleaaaseee ...can i go with kajal?"zaara begs abeer.

"GET IN!"abeer said coldly as he couldnt bear the fact that she still hates to be around him.

"I want to..."

"How many times are you gonna try to run away from me...enough is enough...now get this in your little head...there is no escaping from me!...after all the running and escaping you are gonna end up in square one...YOU WILL END UP WITH ME" abeer stresses the last few words which leaves zaara hopeless. She gives into his threats and gets into his car.

Abeer smiles victoriously as he was able to convince her and gets in his driver's seat and wishes she would start a conversation but little did he know she was soo badly waiting to get out of his car...and out of his life.

"ummm...would you like to wear your seatbelt or should i do the honours?"abeer asks in teasing way. "NOOOO...noooo i can do it myself" zaara says in a shrill voice as she didnt want him any closer to her.

"okk then off we go"abeer says and starts the car. There was an awkwards silence through out the journey with only zaara's sniffing and heavy breathing clearly audible. Zaara felt the same horror and hopelessness once again as she was back in the lion's den but abeer was having the time of his life as his lady love was sitting next to him. But he knew it wasnt the same in her case which made him unhappy.

"How are you zaara?"abeer asks zaara to cut down the silence.

"fine"

"how was jaipur?...better than mumbai i guess?..since  i wasnt there to trouble you" he asks hoping she would finally talk instead of giving one word answers.

"no" zaara gives diplomatic answer.

"so you missed me ...didnt you?"abeer asks trying to control his laugh as he was having fun seeing her struggling to answer.

"uhh..how did you know i was in jaipur?"zaara asks trying to divert from his question which doesnt go unnoticed by abeer.

"GOOD TOPIC TO DIVERT!...well i met armaan in usa...he told me everything"abeer confesses and looks at zaara"well whats going on between you two now" he asks.

"i dont know actually...i somehow knew this wont work when he left usa...so yaa i guess we broke up" zaara says coldly as if nothing affected her anymore.

"hmmm i see"

"well do you wanna know the latest gossip?"abeer asks in excitement..."gaurav is into guys!"

"i know"

"how did you know...he came out recently..and only we know about this"abeer asks in surprise.

"well...he was much kinder and sweet than all the guys i have met in my life...so i thought maybe he was...gay"

"woaahhhh...okay what about this...tushar has a crush on kajal!"abeer drops the bomb.

"WHAAAAATTTT?....ARE U SERIOUS?"zaara asks as she couldnt believe his ears.

"ohhhhh finally you are reacting" he laughs seeing her surprised face."yaaa he is trying to get a yess i guess...you girls are driving us crazy, do you even have any idea about that....we were such chill guys before"

"chill it seems..."zaara mutters.

"u said something?"abeer asks even though he clearly heard to which zaara nods a no quickly.

"anyway..gaurav is getting married next month..and you are coming with me"abeer declares.

"my god.....sooo many are getting married!"zaara says in surprise.

"exactlyyyy  darling...soo many are getting married ....only we are left"abeer says coldly to which zaara turns her face to look at him in reflex.

This guy has gotta be kidding me..

"I am serious zaara...what do you think?..... i am running behind you all these years for fun?"

zaara nods a slow yes which makes abeer glare at her..fearing what he might do she again nods a no.

"okayy so clearly you dont know...I am doing all this soo that we can get married...hopefully our families will become united once again...hopefully one day you will love me"abeer says meaning each and every word leaving zaara speechless.

"abeer I dont love you and this cant happen!"zaara blurts out.

"Did you just say my name..."abeer asks ignoring all the other words she said "i never knew my name was sooo beautiful" he blushes for the first time in his life.

ohhh dear god..please save me from this psychopath.

Zaara eventually notices that the car is not moving and looks around her and realises that they have reached the wedding hall already.

"we reached a long time ago zaara...looks like you were soo engrossed in talking to me...slowly we are making a progress ....aren't we?"abeer asks leaning closer to zaara.

"i think its late....we have to go"zaara says and tries to open the door.

"doors  are locked!"

"Then open it!"zaara says angrily as she had enough of him.

"i didnt lock the doors to open them soo soon" abeer chuckles seeing zaara's annoyed face.

"Listen zaara, love me or not, we are getting married..i have promised my mom to unite our family...and i can go to any extent to fulfill my promise....and i too can go to any extent to win the girl i love the most ,even though if she doesnt love me coz, i love challenges" he says firmly and unlocks the door which goes unnoticed by zaara as she was thunderstruck by abeer's words.

"Zaara......."abeer shakes zaara as she was sitting like a statue. Zaara realises that the doors are unlocked, she opens the door quickly and flees out.

"she hasn't changed even a bit....she is still the  same zaara whom i knew before"abeer grins reminiscing  all  their moments together, though there are only a  few....they are priceless!.
