In the following two weeks, you were able to find yourself a dorm that was a lot cheaper than your current apartment. Marie had offered to help with your move since her older brother owned a van.
On moving day you had told her about your plans to go to Japan for the winter holidays and she told you that she had been waiting for a good excuse to book a vacation there. So now you had two things done, two things left to do.
Studying for your exams was done whenever you had the time. Looking for a second job was the most difficult. There weren't that many jobs that fit well into your schedule of college combined with your weekend job.
Being so busy left you little time for chatting with Wakatoshi and you couldn't wait for your makeup exams to be over with.
When the 'big day' finally arrived you felt well prepared, or at least better prepared than you had been for your actual exams.
You finished both your exams before noon and were happy to have an afternoon to yourself. You hoped Wakatoshi would be online, since you had quite a few things to tell him.
After having lunch you checked Line on your laptop and found to your relief that he was indeed available.
It took a few rings before he accepted your video call.
"Hey, how was your exam?" He cut right to the chase.
"I'm pretty sure I made it this time, I even wore my lucky shirt!" You said and grinned as you made sure his volleyball shirt was in view.
"Good." He said with a smile.
"I have a few things to tell you!" You said excitedly, wondering how he would take the news.
"First of all, you might have already noticed, but I moved into a dorm room." You got out of the way of your webcam, so he could take a look. "It's a lot smaller than my apartment and I think I'm getting a roommate when the school year starts, but it's also way cheaper!"
You could tell he did not really know if what you just told him was good or bad. "Are you in financial trouble?" He asked.
"Oh no, that's not the case! I'm trying to save up. Will you be very busy during winter break?" You asked in what seemed like a change of subject.
"Not more so than usual. I've got daily training and a match." He answered and you were glad he didn't have to go abroad.
"Good." You said. "The reason I'm saving up is that I'm planning a vacation in the winter break, I'm going to come to Japan with Marie for two weeks."
You watched his face light up, and couldn't wait to tell him the rest.
"There's more! While Marie is returning home after the two weeks are up, I'm going to try and stay as long as I can after. Ninety days is the longest I can stay without a visa, but I'm thinking two months in total will be more realistic." As you watched him through the screen you couldn't help but poke fun at him a little bit.
"I think you give your face too little credit. I'm pretty sure it's expressing happiness right now." You laughed, glad that he was obviously over the moon. "Also, I know you're not too big on sightseeing, but we're going to need a tour guide now and again."
"Of course." He told you. "I don't know if I'll be able to do a good job though."
You waved your hand. "Don't worry about it, all you have to do is point things out to us, I'm sure we'll be able to take care of the rest."
He chuckled. "I'm looking forward to it."
"Yeah me too! I uh..." You thought about what Marie had told you two weeks ago. "I miss you."
