After almost 20 minutes of talking through facetime we say goodbye to each other. I'm still not used to this, pero sige na nga. I closed my eyes, smiling inspite of not knowing what will happen on the next day.
I woke up early the next day, not because Damon will fetch me. Don't get me wrong, pero bakit ang defensive 'ko? Basta, I woke up early because I slept early. I cooked our breakfast since mom is still asleep, it's 5:30 am and my class starts at 8.
"Wow, this is life changing" Mom teased. She sips her coffee that I made for her and sat on her chair. She made a mouthful bite of the bacon and rice that I cooked.
"Thanks, Mom. Dahil diyan last na 'to" asar ko pabalik. Pinunasan ko ang mga ginamit at nilinisan ang stove. I sat next to her and sips my own coffee. She puts her hand on her chin, waiting for me to confess something. This woman knows me best in this world.
"What?" painosente kong tanong. Tumayo ako, masakit pa rin ang sakong upang iligpit ang pinagkainan.
"Well, I heard you talking last night and it seems important, who--" naputol ang dapat sabihin ni Mommy nang makita niya akong di makalakad nang maayos.
"What happened to your foot? It's sore" puna niya.
'Your daughter is getting high due to her crush' presence even in facetime at naging tanga kagabi" I erased those thoughts and change it into a better words.
"I slipped inside the washroom last night" dahilan ko na mukhang naniwala naman ang aking ina.
"Let's visit Dra. Helena first, namamaga siya Leslie" alalang saad ni Mommy na inalmahan ko agad.
"No, Mom. I'm fine. Mawawala din 'to" I took a last sip on my coffee. She doesn't look satisfied with my reply.
"After school we'll go to Dra." pinal niyang sabi.
"How are you going to ride your bike?" okay I need to tell her, atleast right?
"Someone will fetch me" with what I said, she looks intrigued.
"Who, a guy or a girl?" tanong niya nang nakangiti.
Kunwari kong ginalaw ang tasa ang kape kahit wala ng laman 'yon. Mom's still waiting for my answer.
"Okay, it's Damon" sumusuko kong sagot. Her gray eyes became wide.
"Should I know what's happening to my daughter, I'm her Mom as far as I know" she raises her brows like she's watching something amusing.
I cleaned our plates and wipe the table. She should know.
"I'm dating Damon, Mom" I confessed.
"Wow, I'm happy for you. How is it going?" she asked.
"I don't know, good?" I shrugged my shoulders.
"What do you mean good?" she asked again.
"Not better because Andy doesn't know it yet" malungkot kong sagot.
"Why? She'll be the happiest if she will know that you are finally dating her brother" I know, Mom but she's struggling right now.
"I'll tell her soon, just, not now" tangi kong nasabi. I can't tell Mom. Secrets are should be between two people, Andy trusts me.
Napahinto kami pareho dahil sa katok sa aming pinto. My heart beats fast and I blink a lot of times after I realized that's Damon. Kinuha ko ang aking bag at humalik sa pisngi ng ina.
"Bye, Mom" paalam ko at dahan-dahan nang pumunta sa pintuan. I opened the door and pretend I'm fine.
"Morning" he greeted me using his husky voice. I smiled, looked at his back and saw his kawasaki h2r motorbike.
