But as the minutes ticked by, (Y/N) felt her confidence wavering. She began pacing the floor like a caged animal, her mind racing with potential scenarios. Just as she contemplated running out the back door and hiding in the supply closet, the lunchtime rush exploded, and right at the peak of chaos, the two Yugi siblings strolled in together.
"Good day, (Y/N)!" said Lord Amane, his voice smooth as silk.
"Hey~ sorry not sorry about yesterday~" chirped Lord Tsukasa, a mischievous glint in his eye.
'THEY'RE REALLY HERE!!'
Even though she had been expecting them, now that the moment had arrived, her nervousness had reached a peak higher than the stack of takeout boxes piling up on the counter.
Still, I need to turn them down!
"Um, about yesterday? There really seems to have been a misunderstanding. I'm really not your match..." (Y/N) blurted out, trying to sound confident, but her voice squeaked at the end like an off-key note in a symphony.
"(Y/N)," Amane said, his demeanor calm, eyes closed like he was meditating.
"Yes? What is it?" she replied, her heart racing like it was auditioning for the Fastest Heartbeat award.
Lord Amane opened his eyes, his amber orbs piercing through her like a laser beam. It felt like he was staring into her soul. 'What beautiful eyes... They're like crescent moons.'
"I will get straight to the point. Will you, (Y/N), become a Yugi bride?" he asked, his voice deep and serious.
"W-wha... A b-b-bride?!?" Her eyes widened so much that she was sure they were about to pop out of her head.
'He's jumped straight into marriage territory?!'
"Tsukasa seems to have taken a liking to you as well. What do you say?" Amane asked, his innocent smile completely at odds with the gravity of his question.
Tsukasa flicked his gaze between the two of them, giving (Y/N) a cat-like grin that was equal parts charming and slightly unnerving. After a moment, he avoided both of their stares, pretending to be very interested in the paint on the wall.
"I wouldn't mind which of us you marry, little missy~ as long as you join the Yugi Clan. You already seem like Amane, so I will accept you as family anytime!" Tsukasa declared, suddenly moving closer to her.
"Tsukasa! Manners... Don't go scaring her like that!" Amane yanked his brother's kimono collar, giving him a stern look.
Flushed and feeling like a ripe tomato, (Y/N) darted her gaze away from both siblings.
"Uh... I could marry either of you..?" she stammered, cringing at her own words.
'What the hell am I saying? Oh, right! I forgot they were both coming here to meet the same woman!'
If she didn't set things right now, this discussion could veer past the point of no return. Neither Lord Amane nor Lord Tsukasa seemed to see her as anything but a potential bride, and that was more pressure than she could handle!
Her mind spun with thoughts as wildly as a rollercoaster. The last thing she wanted was to play favorites—or end up married to both of them while living in a bizarre love triangle like some over-the-top romantic comedy! There is no way (Y/N) want that.'Persuading both of them together isn't working for me. So I'll start with one or the other.'
'But which should I explain things to first...?'
