So I've actually become a waitress now.
Just great.
After I left the interrogation room, I went towards the pantry. Since I was no more allowed to go inside, I saw Benjamin, a cook in the kitchen going inside and asked him to call Myra out which he helpfully did. I let Myra know the briefs and asked her to get my phone out since that was the only belonging I had left inside.
The day was dark and I was gloomy. I couldn't be happy about a single thing since nothing that makes me happy had even occurred to me lately.
I was explained to visit rooms or floors and how I was supposed to clean them. My instructor who was a petite woman..
Probably that's why she's an instructor.
...handed me over to a coworker she introduced as Phoebe.
Phoebe was a girl in her mid twenties like me and she seemed like a bubbly girl, cheerful and active but really attentive to her environment since she was listening to everything the woman was telling her and occasionally looking at me, passing a smile.
"So are you new here?" she asked after the woman had left.
"Kind of.. I was demoted."
"Oh. That's sad."
"Cheer up though. The work isn't half bad."
"I Hope," I replied.
We went to floor 35, a meeting room floor to start working on the new job I was given. The meeting rooms were located from floor 31 to 36. I had visited this portion of the hotel while we were given a short tour before work started. I was really amazed seeing the floor length glass windows at this height. It was my first time seeing such a beautiful view then. They looked so elegant and breathtaking that I couldn't stop gaping my mouth for a good 30 second. It was just lovely.
"We're supposed to go straight to that room," Phoebe pointed to the far straight in the gallery. My eyes shifted in the direction she was pointing and we continued to walk towards the room.
We pushed the door to enter in after reaching there and my breath immediately hitched at the sight.
"Oh. Wow!!," I exclaimed.
"This is soooo good."
"It is," Phoebe said with a smile, my eyes still wide.
The room was all glass from three sides, except the wall we had entered from and the height at which we were was just making it awfully breathtaking. The sun was about to set after tinging everything in its golden hue.
"Let's begin," Phoebe said.
The room looked so neat already that I wondered what were we even supposed to clean.
I continued moving the vacuum cleaner all around the room while she continued to wipe the countertops, tables and chairs of any excess dirt. We changed the glasses of water, napkins and everything which would have been used by the previous occupants but pretty much of it seemed unused.
Cleaning was a mood lifter for me. I felt in better spirits after I finished it. I had never been a fan of cleaning because more or less I was lazy doing so and it just didn't fit in my interests.
Finally, we had to go out since we had finished cleaning. I took a moment to capture in as much as I could to cherish this memory later. We walked out and saw a group of people approaching in our direction, probably some businessmen. We cornered our route so that they could have enough space to pass by since we were the workers and them the consumers of this whole structure.
