Chapter 3 : The Opening Feast

Third person pov:
As the two heads walked to the compartment together. Draco slowly got quieter the closer they got to the compartment. Once they got out side Hermione looked at him and saw the nervousness on his face,
"Just breathe it will be fine if they say anything I will put them in detention I dont care if they are my friends or not. Okay?"
"Yea okay"he sighed back.

Harry pov:
"Hey Ginny I knew she said she would meet us on the train but when will she it's already half eleven"
"Harry shes fine she just has a meeting the the headmistress first."
"Oh right okay"
I looked back out the window and just watched the scenery outside. Then I heard the door open.
"Mione?"
"Yes harry its me"
I saw the death eater behind her as she walked in and sat down.
"What the death eater doing here?"
"Right harry you now have a detention and dont argue I dont care if you are my friend or not you dont day that."
"Hello to you to potter. Anyways I was here to apologise about what happened before and want to try restart and call a truce. I didnt want to become a death eater I was forced into it my father in now in azkaban and I dont want anything to do with him anymore so I dont call him my father."
"Hey draco dont worry about it any friend of mione is a friend on mine"
"Thanks weas-Ginny. I'll be leaving now. Umm I'll see you later then Hermione"
"Yea sure"

Hermione pov:
I waited till Draco left the compartment before talking again.
"What the hell was that Harry. He was trying to make amends and you had to just go and call him that didnt you!"
"Look it's not my fault that you got all mabey with that de-"
"Dont you dare say it otherwise you will have a weeks worth of detentions" I growled at him
"Hey hermione let's just leave the boys and let them think about what they have done"
"Mione" ron said
"Dont call me mione"
"Right anyways why are you giving a detention to harry for calling him a death eater when he is one"
"Right Ronald you have one as well now and it is the headmistress orders if you must know. Now you two better not talk to me till you realise what you have done"

Ginny pov:
After here finished talking we walked out the compartment leaving the boys flabbergasted.
"Umm mione who are we going to sit with now"
"Hehe let's just find draco and we if we could join him hey"
"Yea sure. What's going on between you two anyways"
"Well you cant tell anyone but he is the head boy and we have to get along to show interhouse friendship. Oh yea we also share a dorm but get our own rooms"
"Oh right. Also my lips are sealed."

Third person pov:
The two girls walk down to the end of the train and find draco sitting on his own.
"Hey. Umm. Draco?"
"What's up hermione?"
"Can we share this compartment with you. I might of had an argument with the boys and yea."
"Umm yea sure? I'm guessing weasl-Ginny is joining us as well then"
"Hehe yea I am I dont want to put up with them two"
"Alright come on in then"
With that the trio sat together laughing and joking rest of the train journey.
"Hermione, Ginny I think we better change into our robes we are almst there now I'll go to the bathroom you guys can stay here if you want"
"Oh um sure"

*TIME SKIP TO GREAT HALL*

Third person pov :

Everyone started to walk in to the great hall in groups and was sitting down at their respective house tables and awaited for the sorting ceremony to start.

Hermione POV:
Me and Ginny went and near the front of our table and the boys were still not apologising for their actions.
"I wonder how many new Gryffindors we will get this year Gin."
"Yea same here and hopefully we will win the house cup again this year. As long as those two keep their mouth shut about Draco."
"Tell me about it hes genuinely changed he hasn't called me mudblood once and usually by now he would of done ten times"
"Shh be quiet the sorting is about to start"
I just rolled my eyes at her and watched the sorting hat. This year it didnt do a song which is weird but professor McGonagall came through the doors with the first years and started to go through the list of names,
"Anglesey, Dianna"
A little girl slouched up to the hat and sat down,
"Hmm, yes a ready mind but your faithful, you might go well in Ravenclaw no that wont do you show a lot of ambition better be, SLYTHERIN!"
I just sat there and stared at the table waiting for this to be over and thinking about what food we will have.
"Zephyr, Callum"
A big lad walked confidently to the hat and I watched as professor McGonagall placed the hat down it instantly exclaimed,
"GRYFFINDOR!"
The kid barged himself inbetweennto timid students at the front of the table.

Third person pov:
Professor McGonagall picked up the hat and stool and passed it over to professor Sprour how put into next in a room. She then stood up at her seat and looked at all the students and all she said was, "begin". Like magic loads of different foods just appeared and took all the first years by surprise.
Hermione looked up at Ginny and said "I'm going miss this about Hogwarts"
Ginny just laughed at her and carried on eating.

* AFTER EATING *

Draco pov :
Finally the food disappeared and soon I can go and sleep.
"Welcome first years and welcome back to everyone else. Firstly I would like to announce that the forbidden forest is out of bounds for everyone. I would also like you all to congratulate Miss Grainger on becoming head girl and Mr Malfoy for being head boy. You will get you school timetables at breakfast tomorrow. Also next Sunday we will be holding a ceremony to remember the people we lost due to the wizarding war the last one and the new one. With help from the order on the Phoenix we have managed to make a memorial with everyone's name on it. That is all for now. Try and sleep tonight now will the prefects stand up and show the first years to their common rooms. Goodnight everyone."
After her speech everyone stood up and walked away to their common rooms. I walked over to the Gryffindor table and met up with Hermione.
"Hermione shall we start going to professor then."
"Yeah sure I'll just say by to Ginny a sec"
"Not a problem I'll wait here then"
She quickly walked off and spoke to ginny for a moment when came back.
"Shall we go then "
"Yep"
