Michael saw her first. But when he tried to capture her it was too late. She had already jumped out of the ocean, taking one of the sailors with her. At this point there was nothing that Michael or any of the others could do to help him. He was gone. Taken into the depths of the sea.
Michael saw her first. And she knew that she couldn't risk getting herself captured by those humans. All of a sudden, she jumped out of the ocean and took one of the sailors with her. She would take him into the depths of the sea where she would end his life for all that he and his species had done to hers.
Michael saw her first. And when Charles turned to the same direction that Michael was looking at, it was already too late. He felt her hands grabbing him and pulling him into the water. He knew he had no chance against her and that soon he would be dead. He could feel the air inside of him getting replaced by water and there was no hope... until he remembered the small dagger on the side of his boot. On a last attempt to save his life, he grabbed it and stabbed the mermaid right in her chest freeing himself and returning to the surface. This time he had been lucky enough to escape.
