The Girl Named Amanda

Chapter 1 : Last Clue

2 years had passed since her families assassination. But she's still on the middle of unlocking it's mystery.

Amanda opened a folder which contains an information that might help her find who's responsible for it. It's based on her research and investigations, though.

While scanning through the pages, she saw a man named, Henry Schwartz, said to be one of the citizens, before the assassination, which was asked where their clan's location might be.

According to the other people, Amanda had asked about the man, that the man she's referring to was already killed. But there was no concrete evidence that he's already dead which led a chance to find him alive. It's the only lead Amanda has right now, every info she got was a crap.

She then decided to go out to find the man again.

Amanda's Point of View

According to the other intel I gathered, the one infront of me is his house. Hindi ko sana pupuntahan dahil sabi nilang patay na siya but he's the only lead I had for now.

Kumatok ako sa pintuan at may nagbukas nito. A woman probably between her 30's was the one who greeted me.

"May kilala ho ba kayong Henry?" the woman's wrinkles became visible in her forehead.

"Hindi nga! Ang kulit, paulit-ulit!" She slammed the door and went inside. Paulit-ulit? So it means someone already asked the woman about that Henry.

I knocked again. The woman opened it and was about to close the door again when I stopped her.

"Can you describe the looks of the person who came asking about Henry?" I politely asked. She didn't hesitate to answer, though.

"Lalaki, may katangkaran, tas natatakpan ng bangs ang mata niya. Ayan pwede na?" Tumango ako at umalis na doon. Masyadong mainitin ang ulo ng pinagtanungan ko eh.

I forgot to ask about which direction he went to. Bahala na, hahanapin ko na lang. I asked other people if they had seen a guy like the woman described earlier and pointed a direction.

Hanggang sa napunta ako sa gubat. I can only hear the birds humming and the clapping leaves.
Ipinagpatuloy ko ang paglalakad hanggang sa mapansin kong may usok na nagmumula mula sa patutunguhan ko. I decided to follow that.

Nakita ako ng lalaking nag-iihaw ng isda. I'm facing his back so I can't tell whether it's the one who the woman was talking about.

I was about to make a step when someone appeared from nowhere infront of the man who's barbecuing the fish.

"Henry Schwartz, I'm here on a mission to eliminate you," the man who suddenly popped out from nowhere said. Just as the woman described, may bangs na nakatakip sa mga mata niya, matangkad, at lalaki. No doubt, it's him.

But wait, did he just mentioned Henry Schwartz, the man who I'm looking for and did he say eliminate?

He opened his palms and showed a ball of lightning and was about to attack when I went infront. At itinigil naman niya ang pag atake. He looked at me telling me to get out of the way.

"Unfortunately, you'll fail your mission as long as I'm here," I cautioned but it seems he doesn't care about it.

"Then I'll just kill you with him." He didn't even hesitate!

I drew out my katana and stood infront of him, I won't let the man behind me get killed. I need to ask information first.

Hindi ko alam kung may laban nga ako sa kaniya o wala, but seeing the ball of thunder earlier, maybe I'll be driven into the edge.

But I'm confident on my swordsmanship skills. I trained to be on par with mages so this one is my first step. I have something hidden in my sleeves though.

"I don't know who he is to you woman but I just want to warn you he is a dangerous one." he didn't waited for my response and suddenly vanished. As I suddenly recovered from the shock, I moved my gaze behind and saw a headless man.

"What happened?!"

I stiffened as I saw Mr. Henry's head on the ground. The body collapsed and blood were drained out of him.

The scenery infront of me made me recalled my painful past. Bloods are everywhere and killings won't stop. I remember it clearly and now I'm trembling.

My last clue disappeared in an instant. I looked at the man responsible in it.

"I would like to kill you for interfering but the mission said no killing except the target."

Until I remembered I still have something hidden under my sleeves. Inilabas ko iyon at inihagis sa kaniya. He might dodge it but it's a paralizing smoke bomb, anyone who inhale it would be paralized in an instant.

I bought it from a certain woman in the previous town I went to.

I thought I won. I thought I succeeded, instead he walked in the smoke like nothing. And went infront of me and mumbled words until he knocked me off.

"Don't attack me using Zoe's inventions," that was he said before I closed my eyes.

Paralizing Smoke Bomb
-similar to smoke bomb but the difference is it paralize you if you inhale it. Famous of being one of Zoe's invention. Threw it and ka-boom!
