Prologue

"One caramel frappe for Ma'am Gayle."

Pumunta ako sa counter para kunin yung in-order kong frappe. It's a Sunday and I went to a coffee shop just nearby. Finals na this week so I have to study harder than prelims and midterms. Sobrang tamad ko pa naman mag-aral nung mga nakaraang terms kaya kailangan ko pag-igihin this finals.

College isn't like high school na magbigay ka lang ng floor wax, makakapasa ka na.

"Thank you", I smiled at the barista and took my drink. Bumalik na ako sa upuan ko at binuksan ang bag ko para ilabas ang mga kailangan ko.

I took out my metal straw at itinusok yun sa drink ko, I also took out my notes and a bunch of writing materials including highlighters. I just love buying pens and highlighters kahit hindi ko naman kailangan na kailangan.

I took a sip on my drink and savored the taste of coffee and caramel. Tapos binuksan ko ang notebook ko at sinimulan nang mag-aral. But I stopped reading my notes and admired the interior of the coffee shop.

The lights made the shop looked warm kahit medyo malamig ito dulot ng aircon, iba't-ibang mga signages tungkol sa kape ang makikitang nakasabit sa pader at marami ring mga bulaklak ang nakapwesto sa tamang lugar. It was cozy.

I stared at the flowers. They are fake but they look real. Iba talaga ang gandang naibibigay ng mga bulaklak. You can give it to anyone, as a gift or whatever. Napa-isip ako, when was the last time that someone gave flowers to me? I don't really remember.

My thoughts were interrupted nang biglang nag-vibrate yung phone kong nakapalag sa lamesa. 

"Hey, kailan ka pwede? I need you."

One message.

Just one message from Oli and I am so willing to go to him.

I know that it's been years pero siya pa rin.

It will always be him.
