When I hit pause the movie stops.
Raindrops halt like tiny bubbles
hanging in the air
The night is as quiet as death
The moon peaks from the clouds
and lights the floor red
Metal glints in the dark
Cold steel against warm skin
No cries escape my mouth
Only silent pain
from hidden wounds
that do not leak blood
