Larry Left was rather left sided. He did everything and anything using his left hand. He was left-handed, left-legged, listened with his left ear, saw with his left eye and he smelt with his left nostril. Larry lived with his trusty dog in a small caravan on the outskirts of Tralee. Larry had custom built tools, appliances and every-day items so that he could use them easily left-handed. But there was one thing Larry treasured more than anything else and that was his left-handed super spoon. He used it for everything, eating his breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert, stirring his tea, but most of all for fighting. The spoon could extend out to be about three metres long but it never weighed more than a grain of salt. The spoon's super strength meant that it could crush bone with minimal impact, so much so that when Larry dropped it accidentally it caused a massive earthquake ultimately wiping out half the population of south Kerry. There was one thing though that separated it from every other super spoon. It was the fact that it could fit into a lefty's hand with ease, almost unable to slip out and best of all it could only be used by a true lefty. But one day Larry Left could not find spoon. He looked and looked but to no avail. Then Larry thought a terrible thought. He knew what had happened, Tommy the thief must have sneaked into his caravan and stolen it. Larry knew in the bottom of his heart the day would come when he'd have to fight and search to regain what was rightfully his. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Larry packed his bags and had a cup of coffee and then he was ready to come out of hiding to rescue his super spoon. Larry drove to the nearest petrol station and filled up his tank because he knew that this mission could take him all over the country. Down windy roads, flooded fields and over mountain tops. There were kit-kats, two for the price of one in the shop so he got those as well. Finally Larry set-up his sat-nav, destination, Tommy the thief. It said he was somewhere in Wicklow, but he was moving so fast he could end up anywhere. Larry kept on driving, going as fast as he could while keeping to the speed limit. Some time had passed now and it was beginning to become dark. Larry checked his sat-nav, it said just five miles to destination but Larry hated driving in the dark so he pulled over and checked into a hostel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~.As dawn broke Larry helped himself to a full Irish breakfast then set-off. Larry was driving along with not a care in the world, except of course getting his spoon back. When he suddenly caught sight of Tommy. Larry hit the accelerator and sped off like a shot. But no, he got to a crossroad and the light went red. "Damn it". Larry took the risk and went through the red light, but there was a police car nearby and it pursued him. The police car thought he needed help catching Larry so he called in the whole squad, helicopters and the lot. So there they were chasing down the N17. What had been a peaceful day for Larry had changed into a double high speed chase. Larry chasing Tommy and the police chasing Larry. It would go down in history as the best car chase that ever graced the earth. Larry caught up to Tommy, put to caravan in auto-drive and climbed onto the roof. Tommy the thief's Lamborghini's window was open just enough for Larry to fit through. Larry dived through the air and just about squeezed in. Larry grabbed his spoon with one hand (his left) using the other to hold off Tommy. Larry went back out the window and into his caravan . A huge wave of relief swept over Larry as he sped off down a side-road, leaving behind the police and Tommy. Later, Larry returned to county Kerry. Where he plans to live out the rest of his life, fighting evil for the betterment of the human race.
