Monologue
As she ran through the woods, the dark fog followed Ambrosia. The fear flowed through her, and the adrenaline rush was unimaginably terrible. The cold air whipped her face, stinging the raw scars she had gotten from tree root scrape. The fog is picking up speed, she realized, feeling the hot gust of wind interfering with the cold atmosphere. If she slowed her pace even the smallest bit, she would be engulfed in the fog, and enslaved in the Dark Despot’s castle. Ambrosia was running faster and faster, clutching her precious sapphire amulet. Beads of sweat trickled down her face. She couldn’t see anything clearly, because her eyes were so full of tears. This was the most scared she’d ever been in her life. She quickly wiped her eyes, still keeping her pace steady, but suddenly, she came to a full stop. Right in front of her was a huge group of trees, clumped together with no way around them. She turned around, watching the fog as it drew closer. There was no escape at this dead end. Ambrosia was trapped.
