I tossed and turned in my bed as I heard the voice over and over in my head.
" I'm still here." I pictured a shadowy figure in my mind. I started to lurch towards me. I saw a glint of light.
It was a knife.
I could feel the imaginary sweat dripping down my face. The man was wearing a large hoodie covering his face so I couldn't see it. His hoodie was stained a deep red. His hands were scarred like mine. I closed my eyes and opened them to nothing but darkness. I could feel pictures from my childhood swirling in my head and they disappeared from my brain forever. Lights flashed, blood streamed, there's no escape from my own dream itself. I can't run away from all my bad dreams now, because I'll be stuck with them for a long time.
Mothers POV:
I gently rested my head on my daughters chest as I listened to her heart beat faintly. Tears steamed down my eyes. I didn't think it would turn out like this. The doctor had told me earlier that Sofia had lost so many brain cells, that she broke into a comma last night. My heart pounded with yearn, yearn for my daughter back. I squeezed her hand and I kissed her cheek. What if she never wakes up? The doctor comes in and tells me to leave. They are going to do some test to make sure she was alright. I hope she is.
