Chapter 1: Mystery Meat

Ava's POV
'Hi, my name is Ava Lee White. I am currently 25 years old and half-ghost. I save the world one fight at a time with my team every day. Though how I got here is kind of funny and a little complicated. It all started with...

"Danny I don't think that is safe." Sam worriedly exclaimed
"Oh come on just one picture. What could it hurt, right Tuck, Ava?" Danny replied
"Yeah dude, go for it." Tucker encouraged
"Ok, you are not doing this without the responsible one in the group, AKA me, "Danny whined about being old enough to do it himself, while I pushed him in.
"Let's just get this over with and take that off your chest," I said as I ripped the Fenton logo off him
"Say Ghost!" Tucker excitedly said
"Ghost!" Danny and I said at the same time.
One of his arms on my waist while the other rest on the wall. My right arm on his shoulder and the other in my pocket. Both of us wearing the Fenton suits. The next thing I know Danny slips and presses the on a button. Green electricity surging everywhere through my body and screams filling the room. My dark purple and bright blue eyes turned light purple and green. My blonde-ish red hair now pure white. Before I knew it the shock stopped with Danny and I passed out on the floor. The last thing I heard was Sam and Tucker screaming our names.
*The next morning*
The next morning I woke up in my bed worn out, with no recollection of how I got here. Slowly getting out of bed and dressed in my normal grey sweats, black tank top, grey crop top, and green coat.
'The last thing I remember is going into the ghost portal then...omg Danny turned us half-ghost! I need to get there now,'
"Ava breakfast is ready!" Mom yelled
"Coming!"
'I will have a test this later.'
I quickly grabbed my chapstick and phone and raced downstairs. My brothers and parents waiting for me. Pip and Damian are both very flirtatious to every girl they see and two years older than me. Not only does Pip's blonde hair and Damian's Black hair set them apart so dose their personalities. Pip is very bubbly and almost like a soft boy, while Damian is most definitely an E-boy. Those two are so far apart but yet still able to be best friends and not to mention protective of me, and the constant teasing form Damian.
"So how was your time with your boyfriend~" Damian teased
"For the last time, Danny is not my boyfriend he is my best friend." I retorted
"If you say so, sis. I mean it just seems like with as much as you guys hang out one of you two would develop feelings for the other." Pip added
"Oh come on it is not like that, right mom."
"I'm sorry sweetheart but I have to side with your brothers on this one."
"What! Oh, come on, dad?"
"Sorry princess, this is the one time they are right about something."
"Hey!" Damian and Pip said in unison as I laughed histerically
We finished the rest of our breakfast and I went to go to Danny's when I got a call. Pulling out my phone from my pocket and looking at the contact, it is Sam.
"Hello."
"Ava, get over to Danny's now!"
"I was just on my way what is up."
"His new ghost powers are glitching out."
"On my way."
Since I had no idea how to use these abilities went either I just ran as fast as my legs could carry me. The run was at least five minutes with me going at top speed. I could definitely say I am fitter than Danny and more agile for sure, he would have run out of breath by now. The Fenton house is the easiest house to spot considering it has a huge satellite on the roof. Knocking on the door I waited impatiently for someone to answer, nonetheless, Mr. Fenton opened the door.
"Hello Ave, you here to see Danny."
"Yes sir."
"Well, he is up in his room, on the way up to make sure there are no ghosts." I tensed a little but hide it as to not cause suspicion.
"Will do Mr. Fenton."
"How many times do I have to tell you to call me Jack."
"Sorry, Mr...er...Jack."
I casually walked up the stairs to act normal, turning to the normal room. His room is filled with space stuff and it has been like that for years.
"Alright, what's up, and where is Danny?"I asked
"Right in front of you. I...uh...turned intangible." He shyly said
"Shouldn't you be able to see him since your part ghost too?"Sam asked
"I think it might be because of the fact she already needs glasses as a human and that affected her ability to see intangible ghosts." Tucker explained
"Guys I am still intangible."Danny said
"Ok...uh...um...alright I brought my dad's book about his ghost research. He used to be pretty friendly with them until he met Jack. Let's see ghost history...ghost flight...AHAH ghost intangibility."
"What does it say?" Tucker asked enthusiastically
"It says that it is like a thought process or a defense mechanism. Which means he either thought about it subconsciously or something or someone scared him into that state."
"How do I turn back?" Danny pondered
"Either calm down or think about being tangible again."
He closed his eyes and turned back to being tangible. Curious to how it worked I quickly read the chapter on how to fly. Slightly hovering now I set the book open on the desk next to me and turned intangible. Danny stared at me with pure jealousy.
"Show off." He muttered
"Don't worry Danny I will teach you what you don't learn yourself."
"Tch."
"Let's just go hang out and figure this out later," Sam suggested
"Gladly." Tucker and Danny said at the same time
*Time Skip 1 Month later*
Quite a few things have happened in the past month. I learned how to use my ghost powers better while Danny...well he is trying. With the research the Fenton' and my dad had, Tucker and I made a new suit for me, one that doesn't make me look like a skunk. There still is white but not as much. The suit is a black jumpsuit with, a white romper that has a hood and zipper, and red accents like shoes, gloves, and mask. Unlike Danny, I would like to keep my Identity a secret from ghosts as well as humans. Let's just hope that I can handle it.
"Princess hurry up and come eat before your food gets cold!"
"One sec!"
Quickly putting on my normal clothes and rushed downstairs. (Pic above) I scarfed down my breakfast to hurry and get to school. Normally I pace myself but today is the day Sam decided to mess with Tuck's meat lunch.
"Slow down kiddo. What is the hurry?"
"I have to stop a catastrophe. Also is my lunch ready?"
"Uh...yeah sushi, veggie chicken, and fruits like always."
"Thanks, dad, Bye," I said as I grabbed my lunch and school bag to leave for school.
"Bye princess, watch out for ghosts!"
'If only you knew.'
I reached school and headed straight for my locker. Grabbing my stuff I headed towards the staires when I heard yelling.
"Why can't they just accept me for who I am?" Sam yelled
"Well someone is in a bad mood," I mumbled
"Sam, I am talking about my powers, my problems," Danny replied
"Oh right me too."
"You having trouble telling them too?" I asked
"Oh hey Ava and yeah. It has been a month since the accident and still barely has any control. Unlike miss perfect over here who won't teach me!" Danny sulked
"You can learn on your own just like I did."
"At least give me the book."
"No."
"Ugh, If somebody catches me I go from geek to freak around here." Danny wined as he sunk in the floor
"Like that?" Tucker pointed out
"If he can invent something that can accidentally make me half-ghost, why can he make something to turn me back," Danny complained
"Danny your powers make you unique," Sam encouraged
"And unique is good. You don't have to be in the normal or the popular because sometimes that isn't always the best." I added
"Right and that is why I am an Ultra Recycled Vegetarian." Sam proudly said
"And that means?" Tucker asked
"She doesn't eat anything with a face on it." Danny and I simply said
"Who cares,"
"I do," I mumbled
"Two words meat cynosure," Tucker says as he goes to sniff Danny and me
"Danny, you had sloppy joes and Ave you had...fish?"
"Impressive," Danny replied
"Yep, I had fish," I say try not to disappoint Tucker by telling him I don't eat meat just seafood and veggies.
"Meat heightens my senses. I am on a fourteen-year streak." Tucker proudly announced
"Well that is going to change," Sam said
"Oh no."
"The school finally agreed to my new cafeteria menu." Sam finished
"Wait what?"
*Time skip*
"What is this grass of a bun?" Danny asked
"What have you done?" Tuck screeched
"Tucker it is time for a change," Sam said smugly
"Sorry guys." I sulked
"You knew about this?" Danny asked
"Yeah, but she swore me to secrecy or she would take away my veggie supply," I said
We went to sit down at our normal table. Sam looking happy to go lucky, which is strange, and Tucker moping about. Danny and I exchanged glances, us both knowing this was not going to end well.
"Don't you think this is a little too far Sam?" Danny asked
"I mean when people find out you changed the menu there going to come after you," I added
"Ah, Miss Manson the school board would like to personally thank for ushering the change." Mr. Lancer said coming out of nowhere
"Meat near," Tucker said as he sniffed Lancer
"No no the rumors about the teacher's lounge are completely untrue," Lancer quickly replied clearly hiding something "Thanks again." He continued and left
"Yeah, thanks to Sam for this Garbage," Tucker said with such venom I thought it would stab Sam
"It's not garbage," Sam replied, "It's recyclable organic matter," I said mockingly next to her
"It's garbage." The boys said irritated
We all continued our lunch, the boys not eating. When Danny's and my ghost sense go off.
"Uh, guys." Danny worriedly said
"We got a ghost. I need to go change cover me."
"On it." Sam and Tucker replied
Ever since I got my ability's I have wanted to keep myself unknown to both ghosts and humans, so changing to ghost form is always a tricky situation. Heading straight to the girl's bathroom I transformed in there.
"Ghost time," I whispered
Turning intangible I flew back to the cafeteria. As soon as I reach there I see Dash making Danny eat those disgusting mud pies or as Sam would put it topsoil. Our ghost senses go off again and I see the ghost is a sweet lunch lady.
"Uh...uh...garbage fight!" Danny yells as he throws the dirt at Dash
'Nice one."
Everyone in the cafeteria starts throwing the food everywhere. While Sam, Tucker, Danny, and I sneak away.
"Great I am still his favorite," Danny says sarcastically
Heading back to the kitchen we see the lunch lady. She seems to be looking at something. I go tangible so the others can see me.
"She looks a little like my grandmother," Tucker commented
"I know she looks so sweet and innocent," I added
"Hello, children can you help me? Today's lunch is meatloaf, but I don't see any. Did someone change the menu?" She asked so sweetly
"Yeah, she did," Tucker admitted
"NOBODY CHANGES THE MENU!!!" She yelled
"Oh, cheese balls," I mumbled
"THE MENU HAS BEEN THE SAME FOR FIFTY YEARS!!!" She added creating a green mist around her
"Get behind us," Danny said scared
"Wow, I feel safe," Sam said sarcastically
"Hey!" I replied offended
"I am going ghost!" Danny shouted
He quickly transformed and we both flew up to her. Knowing Danny he would want to fight. I on the other hand wanted to talk to her. I mean she just wanted to have the menu back.
"I...uh...I command you to go away!"
"Really Danny," I said disappointed "I am sorry about him ma' ma and I am sorry that the menu was changed if you like I can try and help you change it back. No one wants it like this either." I calmly suggested
"Oh you are such a dear, but I am sorry about your friends." She said
She made the dishes fly at Danny. He went intangible looking shocked that he was able to do it. Dishes were flying at Sam and I flew to catch them, while Danny got the ones towards Tucker. We both flew to the counter setting the dishes down.
"Well if this superhero thing doesn't work out, I can exit to a career as a busboy," Danny commented
"You could say that again," I added as the stoves started shacking
"I CONTROL LUNCH! LUNCH IS SACRED! Anybody want a cake?"
"Yes please," I said as Tucker and Sam nodded
"TO BAD CHILDREN WHO CHANGE MY MENU DO NOT GET DESSERT! Except for you deary." She screamed
She handed me the cake and left through the ceiling. I set the cake aside to deal with the sentient flaming stoves. They started attacking Sam and Tucker. Both Danny and headed towards them to turn them intangible. Fazing through the wall landing in the hallway.
"It worked!" Danny cheered
"This is the thanks I get for thinking outside of the box," Sam said angrily
Just then the electricity went out and the lockers open pouring out school supplies. The lunch lady at the end of the hall angrily glaring at us
"Steak, hamburgers, bacon..." Tucker said dreamily
All the meats flying in the air attached themselves to her. It made some sort of meat armor.
"But where did it come from, Lancer," Tuck said looking behind him
"PREPARE TO LEARN WHY MEAT IS THE MOST POWERFUL OF THE FIVE FOOD GROUPS! Cookie?"She said pointing at Sam while she shook her head no
"THAN PERISH!"  She yelled as Danny and I slid in front of Sam
"Forget it, the only thing that is going to expire is you!" Danny sternly said
"Really a pun, god is this what I have to deal with now," I asked
"Yes, it is," Danny replied smirking
He went to attack her but ended up detransforming. I glanced at him horrified.
"Whoops, that wasn't supposed to happen," Danny said just as shocked
"No dip Sherlock," I replied
The lunch lady grabbed Danny throwing him into Tucker. She then proceeded to roughly grab Sam and pick me up gently. Then flying away into the basement. It was filled with meat of all kinds for the school lunch. She set me on the ground and put Sam in a meat pile.
"Little lady, would you like some meat?" She asked
"No thank you, but do you have any seafood?" I questioned
"Yes dear, here you go." She handed me some fish sticks
"Thank you."
"Now for you here eat some meat." She said turning to Sam with a chicken leg
"NO!" Sam replied
"My child why won't you eat it the meat is good for you?"
"We don't need it and that is fat."
"YOU NEED DISAPALIN, MANNERS, RESPECT!" She replied
"Excuse me, but that is just her opinion."
"I know sweet pea but she was being rude. Now chicken or fish?"
Danny came flying in punching the sweet lady in the face. She hit the wall headfirst and slid to the floor.
"DANNY!" I yelled sternly
"What?!"
"She is just a sweet lady you could talk it out." He turned back to her and ignored me
Danny jumped in the air, spinning. Then holding out one leg to kick her. She grabbed his leg just before it hit her face.
"This is why you need meat you are skin and bones!" She said then threw him
He turned intangible flipping so his legs were to the wall. The lunch lady opened a box of Kabobs to attack him with. I quickly flew to them from the side and snatched them while rolling on the ground. That seemed to anger her so she opened every box of meat nearby. She attached it to her in the armor of meat. Tucker and Sam came running where the meat went, just as the lunch lady picked up Danny and threw him again.
"AHHHHH!" Danny screamed
"Danny!" I screamed flying after him
He turned intangible and fazed through the wall as did I.
"You good?" I asked
"Ugh...I think so." He replied
We both fazed back through the wall to see Sam and Tucker getting chased. I quickly picked up Sam and Danny picked up Tuck. We fazed through the opposite wall to the outside world.
"Jeez Danny fighting meat monsters and fazing through walls you must be exhausted," Sam commented
"Of course not what would give you that idea." He said as he slowly fell to the ground
"I feel bad for not helping as much as I should have," I said
Danny detransformed, as did I when I was sure no one was around, and we took him home. Reassuring Jack and Maddie that Danny was fine wasn't too hard so we just walked straight to his room. He stayed passed out for a few hours till he came to.
"What's going on?!" Danny asked scared
"You passed out and we took you home," I replied
"You have been out for four days," Tucker said dramatically
"FOUR DAYS!!!" Danny shouted
"No I am just messing with you, it has only been a couple of hours." Tucker laughed
"Tucker cut it out," I said
"This is the second time today your carelessness almost got him killed!" Sam scolded
"Me? The only reason this happened is that you had to be unique! You had to change the menu well now I am going to change it back!" Tuck retorted
"You're going to change the menu back you're going to have to go through me to do it!" Sam screamed while slamming the door causing me to jolt.
"Everything should be back to normal by tomorrow," Danny said
"I hope," I added
*Time skip next day*
"Or not maybe it will be worse," Danny said
"Oh no, I was afraid of this," I commented
Danny and I stood there shocked. There were meat stands everywhere. Not only that but a stage with women dressed as hot dogs or sausages. Tucker came on to the stage and started yelling.
"What do you want!" Tucker yelled
"MEAT!" The crowd cheered
"When do we want it!"
"NOW!"
We looked to the other side of the school to see a whole bunch of hippys and punks. There is a crowd chanting with what looks like protest signs. Sam is on stage chanting along. They both got off their stages and walk to us.
"You guys both put up these protests in one night," Danny asked
"I wouldn't question this Danny," I warned
"Meat eaters, always ready to fight," Tucker explained
"Ultra Recycled Vegetarians are always ready to protest." Sam countered
"Don't you think this is a little extreme," I questioned
"Danny, Ava you either with me..." Tucker said
"Or against him." Sam finished
"So whose side are you on!" They yelled together
Just then the sky started to change and the wind got quicker. A small tornado started in the sky. Danny and my ghost sense went off. Meat burst out of the truck and I went to go change into ghost form. Rushing to a tree I turned intangible and transformed.
'Little did I know my brothers were there and saw what happened."
"IT'S LUNCHTIME. "
Rushing back to the guys and Sam the monster already formed. Everyone started running.
"Meat why must you betray me!" Tuck wined
"Suck it up Tucker with as much as you eat, it was bound to rebel," I commented
"Guys time to make up now," Danny said and instantly Sam and Tucker hugged hiding Danny
We both flew to the ghost meat pile. This time I am not going to play nice. The meat monster continuously threw punches at us while both Danny and I dodged. He went behind it and kicked it in the back of the head. I searched for a way to trap this ghost.
"He really is getting better." I heard Tucker say but just as the ghost sucker-punched Danny
"I just hope he can take a punch.' Sam said as we saw him fly into the sky.
" Alright, that is the last straw lady! No one hits my friend and gets away with it!" I yelled
I flew up to her and gave her an uppercut. This made her stumble backward giving me the chance to test out the ghost's ability. I positioned my hands outward and blasted the ecto-beams at her. Some of the meat started flying off as she screamed in frustration. Danny came flying back down straight into the meat ghost blasting it to bits. A crater left in the ground as Danny came crawling out.
"Oh dear, what a mess are you ok." The ghost lady asked and stupid Danny responded
"Yeah, I think so." He replied
"Tough you being ok is not part of my balanced diet of doom." She yelled
"Idiot," I mumbled
Just then little meat babies came from the crater. Danny jumped up taking the heel of his foot and slicing the meat babies in half. Seconds later they reformed.
"I wasn't expecting that..." Danny said as he detransformed unexpectedly "Or that."
The meat babies picked up Danny and flew away. Quickly I went after them trying to blast them without hurting Danny. They turned him upside down just as the Fenton thermos hit him in the face.
"The Fenton thermos?" I questioned
"How am I going to get it to work?" Danny continued just as the meat babies dropped him
"Danny!" I. screamed
I flew down after him to try to catch him. He started mumbling and all of the sudden changed back. Danny and I fazed through the ground yelling 'Thanks for the thermos' to Jack. We fazed back in front of the ghost lady ready to fight.
"Hand me the thermos it is the least I could do for not helping earlier," I said sadly
"With pleasure M'lady." He said handing me the thermos
"NO SOUP IS NOT ON TODAY'S MENU!" she screeched
"We are changing on the menu permanently!" Danny yelled
"Please work," I mumbled
I opened the thermos and channeled my ghost energy into the thermos. The blast hitting her full force and sucking her in. I quickly closed the cap and we both detransformed.
"Where is the ghost?" Sam questioned
"My parents have their moments," Danny said proudly as Danny's parents came up to find the ghosts
"Sorry Jack you just missed him," I said pointing behind me
"So you are not going to tell them?" Tuck asked
"Nah, I think I finale figured out what these powers are for..." Danny started but was cut off by Lancer
"You're in a load of trouble." He said
*Later that night*
I left Danny and Tucker to deal with their own mess so I headed home. The walk was peaceful and quiet. I reached my house to see my brothers staring at me.
"Yes?" I questioned scared
"Let's go to your room and talk," Pip said
We walked upstairs to my room. Damian turned around to shut the door.
"So you have ghost powers," Damian said bluntly
"H...How did you find out?" I asked
"We saw you change during the chaos today. Don't worry though we don't plan on telling." Pip started
"We know it would cause trouble for you if we did. Your secret is safe with us along with Danny's" Damian continued
"You know about him too?"
"It wasn't that hard to figure out if you know what you looking for," Pip said
"Now get some rest you have school tomorrow," Damian added
They left my room leaving me shocked. Slowly I went to take a shower and get ready for bed.
'This ghost thing is going to be a handful' I thought as I drifted to sleep.
