It was a reflex... her quirk had subconsciously acted out at full force after having processed she was in physical danger. It didn't happen often these days, but nonetheless Bakugou was just the unlucky one who had to deal with it at full force. In her defence, she tried to warn him. Not to mention her anxiety spiked after her palms began to glow that hellish colour. That only caused the white part of her quirk to act on instinct even more.
Red was a part of her quirk that the girl didn't necessarily have an agreement with. When she used the white part of her quirk against Bakugou, it was only there briefly but at full capacity, consider it a warning shot. Let's just say it's for the best that this one stays locked up in a cage very, very far away. Red only showed up when she was... pushed too far? That's putting it loosely, so let's just go with too emotional.
After the girl had surrendered during the match, naturally Bakugou was fuming. Though she brushed him off without even acknowledging him. Her state of mind was more or less fucked afterwards, that usually came with having to put every ounce of energy you had into suppressing your quirk. Not to mention, the heat of the ash blondes explosions only made it harder to control it. I mean, if the cold suppressed her quirk it was only natural that the heat added more fuel to what was already a scorching bonfire.
Maybe if she'd just done what she was told and lost to Tokoyami none of this would've happened? But at the time the tournament was her only source of entertainment, and no way in hell was she about to purposely lose.
Also, she wondered if Bakugou had noticed the change of colour in her hands like she had felt. In that moment the change freaked her out so much that all of a sudden the girl was a little kid again, shaking in the streets of the big city... all alone in Americ-
"Student Todoroki is off the arena... therefore Bakugou wins!" Already? You'd think the final showdown would draw out some more. The girl was tapped on the head by Recovery Girls cane, she had been camping out in her office ever since the end of her fight with Bakugou. "Don't you have a podium to stand on? Go, go!" The lady shooed her away as the girl mindlessly stood.
In the end, she was suppose to fight Iida for third but turns out he had a family emergency. So they tied for third place. Todoroki came second, followed by Bakugou in first like he claimed he would. Although, I guess being chained to the first place podium with your hands restrained wasn't apart of the plan.
The girl stood there as the crowd cheered, smiling softly on the outside with her hands behind her. "HRRRNGH!!" Did I mention Bakugou's mouth was also sealed shut? That didn't stop him from trying to break free though and what she assumed was him swearing.
The ash blonde glared daggers into Todoroki before whipping his attention to her and doing the same. Both her and the half and half ignored his efforts. Both of them were apparently too busy fighting their own inner demons to be concerned with a classmate that complained like a child after losing a game of tag.
