Carter woke up alone with a splitting pain in her shoulder, coughing up water, and bleeding from her right arm, thigh, and side of her head. The ache in her ribs was persistent as well. “Who the hell put that in the design of a freaking spa,” She grumbles, pushing her way up with a whine of pain.
She had lost her glasses somewhere, so everything was very blurry, but the hiss at her feet needed one squint before she was screaming and jumping between gators on the ground. Once out of the gator pit, Carter starts walking her way towards the center of the facility while formulating how she got hurt.
“So I hit only one tree, hit my head, dislocated my shoulder, and now I’m low on blood, have a concussion, and bruised ribs,” The conclusion just makes her more exhausted and dizzy, so she stops to rest against a tree. But the moment she leans on it, a big group of police officers swarm her.
“There’s the girl, grab her!” One yells, but the lack of sight and low consciousness makes Carter instantly start thrashing as a painful, tight grip of a man stirs her into a panic. “Let me go, let me go, let me go, let me go, let me go,” and the mantra doesn’t stop as the tears start.
The officer drags her with him as the others keep walking, despite wanting to stop their leader from scaring the girl further. They eventually stop, and Carters head perks at the sound of Haruhi’s voice, stopping her mantra for just a moment before searching blindly as her thrashing becomes more insistent and her voice louder.
Mori, who had been holding Haruhi, set the girl down as Honey started his attack, and rushed for Carter, knocking out the guard and grabbing Carter, cradling the girl against his chest. The new, but familiar hands instantly stop the screaming. “There you guys ar-oh no,” Tamaki says, rushing forward, but one look from Mori has him stopping six feet away.
“The leader of that police group was dragging her despite her injuries and plea’s, Kyoya,” Honey growls, moving to the otherside of the girl and rubbing her hands until her breathing soothes. “He will be fired and sued by next week, then. Now, see if she has any injuries that require immediate attention. If not, I’ll dress all of her wounds and the doctor will have a look at them during her appointment,"
Honey nods, but before he can speak, Mori talk, “She can’t see,” That’s when everyone notices the lack of glasses. “I have a spare, conveniently, she and I have the same prescription,” Kyoya then passes a pair to Honey to place on the girls face.
“Carter, do you know what day it is?” Haruhi asks and the girl groans, “The day I’m gonna kill Kyoya for all of todays mishaps,” Carter responds and all the twins chuckle, “Her brain is just fine,” Hikaru smirks while Carter is placed on the ground, sitting up with Mori’s assistance.
“Anything broken?” Mori asks before his eyes land on the odd placement of her shoulder. “Just a dislocated shoulder. I almost lost a foot when I nearly stepped on a gator, thankfully, it hissed to announce it and fifteen thousand others’ presence,” Carter says, taking a sharp intake of air as Mori runs his finger over it.
“This was all a test run of the park,” The twins mutter and Carter glares at Kyoya, “Live gators are a bad thing. Almost as bad AS THE TIDAL WAVE!” She yells, but the volume of her own voice sends waves of pain through her head. “Who knows how to relocate a shoulder?” Haruhi asks and Mori, Honey, and Kyoya sigh.
“I’m stronger, so I’ll hold her still, Mori can snap it back in,” Honey says and Carter leans into the small boys arms as he restrains her. “On three,” Honey says. “One, two, three,” A loud pop makes everyone flinch while tears just start up in Carters eyes. “Can we leave now?” She mumbles to Mori while the officers apologise to Honey. “Yeah,”
Mori then stands with the girl in his arms and rips a towel from Kyoya’s hand, wrapping it around her shoulders and walking his way to the limo so he can dress her wounds. “It seems I may have just gotten on the bad side of Mori-senpai,” Kyoya says and Honey grins at him, “He’s only been angry once, and the result was worse than my interrupted nap,”
Everyones heart nearly stops in fear as they turn to Kyoya. “Ooooooo, you’re in trouble,” The twins draw out while Kyoya simply gives an annoyed glare before walking his way back to the limo where upon arriving, he sees Mori wrapping up the last of Carters wounds.
“You better ad somewhere in the contract that you buy and pay for the weeks groceries everytime I get injured during one of you or Tamaki’s activities,” Carter grumbles, sitting up and just staring as the Shadow King pulls another first aid kit out, opening it up and scooting closer to Carter to place the sling on her. Mori hums in approval, leaning back with his arms crossed. “With the blood loss and lack of food today, it would be in your best interest to consume some sugar,” Kyoya mutters and Mori just gives a monotone, “Yeah,”
Mori keeps his eyes trained on the girl as he notices her pale face and flushed cheeks. “Call someone to pick up the others and let’s take her to eat,” Mori states while Kyoya nods, opening the privacy window to tell the driver to take them to the nearest drive thru before arranging for another limo.
“That was a big sentence, Mori,” Carter mumbles, shivering from the sheer sound of his voice, but both males in the vehicle think it as a chill and pull the towel up over her shoulders. “Yeah,”
Carter rolls her eyes with a grin to match Mori’s due to his nearly unnoticeable sarcasm. “Anyway, now that I have the two of you with no… annoyances,” Kyoya begins, pulling out a notebook, “We need to discuss some things.”
“Like what?” Carter asks and Kyoya sighs, “First of all, I’ve noticed you trust Mori senpai and he knows a little more through context clues than the others, excluding Honey senpai, we need to discuss your protection from your father and his boss. My family has opened an investigation now that they have started business in Japan and are causing much more crime for my police force,”
Carters expression falls to fear, “You can’t do that, there’s one in America that knows too much. I can’t say or do anything without putting Ella in danger,” She says. “You two will be safe,” Mori grumbles and Kyoya continues, “I have task forces there as well. You will have no involvement until I have your father, his boss, and there is one more that my agents have not found a name for yet, but he seems to be in charge of violent affairs. Causing them, at least,” The girls expression hardens as she curls up in her seat, “He’s the boss’ son. His name is James and he has a thing for crying teen girls,”
“Thank you, that’s all I needed on that situation. Just know that if no Host’s have told me they will be in your presence, there will be a hidden guard watching you,” Kyoya explains, writing a few things down, “Now for the other matter, the two of you have started to develop a relationship. All I ask is that if things do become more involved, keep it to hugs and hand holding when on school grounds, that way girls will still be interested, just a little jealous because of the lack of knowledge on the reasons for affection,”
Mori and Carter both go rigid with shock before facing each other with wide eyes and dropped jaws. “While you two discus this, I’ll go grab some food,” Kyoya chuckles, exiting the long stopped vehicle. “You like me?” Carter questions and Mori nods while adding, “And you like me,” He hums and she nods before the two giggle a sigh.
“Most people usually have a conversation for a few hours before the mom friend tells them they both like each other,” Carter sighs. “Yeah… do you uh,” Mori begins and Carters smile widdens, “I would love to go on a date, how about after club on wednesday?” Mori’s smile goes big and bright while Carter laughs.
“But I want to call Kashi,” She quickly adds and Mori nods, “Deal,” He responds, grabbing her good hand and placing a kiss on the back of it. “Kyoya is protective of you,” Mori says, and Carter nods, “He has many older siblings, with the whole status and rich people expectations, his father probably hurts mine like mine did. But it’s worse for him,” Carter sighs.
“Why?” Mori asks and she shrugs, “My fathers an addict, I can hope that under the drugs and alcohol, he actually could be good. Status keeps Kyoya’s dad from going under any influence, which just makes it known that it can’t change until there is a force to make it,”
Mori sees Carter start shivering more and pulls her into his lap, “You read people,” Mori says, brushing her hair with his finger, but staying on the scalp to avoid messing up the curls. “Yup. I have theories on you, but you’re to mellow in situations for me to get a bigger picture,”
“I’ll tell you later,” Mori states right as Kyoya opens the door and climbs in, “Drink this,” He says, handing a bottle of orange juice with a straw towards Carter, but Mori takes it an prepares it before holding the straw to her mouth.
“I’m not incapable,” Carter pouts. “You’re shaking,” Mori simply states and that’s all she needed to know she was on her way to passing out from low blood sugar, so she accepts the straw and gently sips for a moment. It doesn’t take long for the colour to return to her cheeks. Kyoya hands her as well as Mori a chicken sandwich.
Once the two start eating, Kyoya continues informing them of other matters, “Now once the case against Trevor, James, and Nick is over and to the point of trial where a testimony will be needed, we will need you to speak on stand.”
Carter frowns and takes a deep breath as Mori rubs her back soothingly. “Before that, there will be no mention of you in the case, but when the three are in custody, you will be stated as a witness and be given a healthy sum of money from my family for your assistance,”
“I’ll let Mitskuni know,” Mori says and Kyoya nods, “The twins and Tamaki will need to know, but we will discuss that when the time comes. Now, let’s get Carter home before she passes out in here,” Mori nods in agreement, pausing his soothing touches on the girl and giving a light hum to stop her from completely dozing.
Kyoya bumps the privacy window with his fist and the limo speeds off immediately. “Kashi, did you grab the keys to my apartment?” Carter asks with a big yawn, leaning her head on his shoulder. “Yeah, they’re in my pocket,”
The three sit in comfortable silence for a few moments before Kyoya breaks the peace, “So, when’s the first date?” He asks and both blush as the limo comes to a stop. “Wednesday, you creep,” Carter mutters grinning when he and Mori laugh.
“Alright, let’s get you upstairs and into bed,” Kyoya says, rolling his eyes as he and Mori climb out of the limo, the latter carrying Carter. “No, I can go up by myself, it’s fine,”
“Well now we’re suspicious,” Kyoya snips and the males walk up the stairs. “But mooooom, this is an invasion of privacy,” Carter jokingly whines despite the nervousness of their reactions to the lack of interior.
“Something you want to tell us?” Mori asks, handing the keys to Kyoya who unlocks the door and steps in, freezing for a fraction of a second. “Do you not have a dining table, yet?” He asks, removing his shoes at the door, Mori following suit while gently placing Carter on her feet.
“Uh, no. Haruhi’s dad gave me a key, so we go over there to eat,” Carter spits out, but the two males pick up on the panic quickly. “Is there something you want to tell us?” Kyoya asks and Mori sighs, swiftly walking to the door at the back of the apartment and nodding when he sees the pile of blankets and pillows on the floor.
“Kyoya, she has no furniture,” Mori shrugs and the man nods, pulling out his phone. “Kyoya, put the phone away,” Carter starts, reaching to grab the phone, but Kyoya pulls away at the same time Mori pulls her back by the waist. “I’ll order a large bed for you and Ella, I figure she isn’t keen on sleeping alone. Two dressers and a table. Anything else, senpai?”
“I’ll get the kitchenware with Mitskuni,” Mori says and Kyoya nods, both ignoring protests from Carter as they go into her room. “I’ll message the twins about getting clothes for both of them,” The younger male mutters when he sees the two totes of clothes sitting in the closet.
“I get no say in this, do I?” Carter asks and the two males look at her, “You have a say in if you want dark wood or light wood,” Kyoya says and Mori finishes up, “Why style of cooking ware do you want?”
