Turn 39 - New student

It was the following day. Yushida was exhausted from his duel with the unknown assailant from the night before...but he was fine mostly. Meanwhile It was now break for the students of the academy and some of whom were obviously wondering about Yushida.

"So he was hurt from playing duel monsters?" Casey asked.

"yeah..." Hideo replied and sighed sadly. "Thankfully he's okay now..."

Izuna looked down in wonder. "didn't Pegasus mention something about...shadow games?"

"Yes he did..." Casey stated. "But then I wonder who it was who attacked him."

As the group were pondering what happened Ryuoko was walked over to the group. "I heard Yushida was sick." Ryuoko spoke firmly. "But I suspect that something else is going on."

Casey turned towards Ryuoko and nodded. "Yeah...These two told me what happened."

Hideo looked down and then took a deep breath before looking at Ryuoko. "Last night Alicia told us that a complete stranger tried to hold her hostage...and forced Yushida into a duel."

Izuna looked at Hideo and gave a small frown. "But when we arrived to help Yushida was unconscious...he wasn't physically hurt...but he seemed extremely fatigued."

Ryuoko looked at the pair with concern before she nodded. "Months ago Pegasus mentioned shadow games...games where ones life is on the line. Yushida may be in his room recovering but no one would suffer extreme fatigue from a regular game of duel monsters."

"But at least he's like ya know alive so...that's a plus." Hideo muttered.

Ryuoko sighed and then looked at hideo, izuna and Casey. "Class is going to start soon...mister Kazuki is looking forward to seeing you all there."

It wasn't long before break ended and everyone was back in class. Things seemed to just be going along as normal now everyone was sat down for class. Josuke was preparing his lesson as a short girl walked into the room, she had neck length straight dirty blonde hair, slightly tanned skin and also light purple eyes. She was wearing the standard uniform for senya academy but she also had a pair of silver buttons sowed into her sleeves.

"Excuse me is this the class of Mister Kazuki?" The girl spoke calmly and quietly.

Josuke nodded and gave a small yet nervous smile. "y-yes it is. please take a seat?" C-class this is Loretta Shirosagi. S-she has been accepted into s-senya academy u-under special c-conditions."

Casey looked towards the new student and narrowed her eyes slightly. "Special conditions?" She muttered to herself quietly.

Loretta approached the empty seat beside Casey and opened her own text back.

"N-now students we'll be doing some algebra today." Josuke started to write a problem on the board as the majority of the students behind groaned.

Casey looked at the Loretta curiously. "So what kind of 'special conditions' did they send you here for?" Casey asked pointedly.

Loretta looked at Casey with a confused expression. "i-i'm sorry but were you talking to me?"

"Yes...who else?" Casey asked this time a more annoyed tone coming from her.

"Well I was put forward a grade so now I'm attending this school a year early." Loretta spoke quietly, almost a whisper.

"So you're only 15?" Casey asked once again seeming less annoyed.

Loretta looked at Casey with a smile and then held out her hand. "So many questions...how about you introduce yourself to me?"

Casey looked at Loretta with a small glare before her gaze softened and she held out her hand in a handshake. "Casey Inuka."
