Chapter 13

Nandito ako sa mini-forest at nagpapahangin. I am trying to gain back the peace of mind I've lost and this place is helping me with that. I slouched down on the bench. I placed my hands on every side of my thighs as I bowed my head, intently staring my feet.

I closed my eyes for a moment. I can feel that the trees were dancing with the wind as the sun was about to welcome its dusk. I unfold my eyes and faced the sky... the orange-pink skies commiserate my mind and soul...

I took my phone from my suit's pocket. I almost forgot...

From: Mom
See you later, anak.

She wants us to go with her sa isang birthday party. Tumayo ako and went on my way at the parking lot para umuwi na at mag-prepare para mamayang hapon.

As I am about three meters away from my car, I saw Adriel. He is just standing there wearing his black suit, white polo inside paired with his black slacks and shoes. His hand was on his pocket and it looks like he's waiting for someone...

"What are you doing here?" bungad ko sa kanya nang marating ko ang puwesto nito.

"I just want to give you this..." he sounded so calm when he talked. He gently ceded me my award because I forgot to bring it with me before I left the announcement event.

"Thank you..."

I bit the side part of my lower lip. I just don't know how to talk to him right now. I parted my lips while widening my eyes a second after. I didn't grasp if he was looking at me because my eyes were set at my car's post instead.

"I have to go, excuse me..." I faced him while pointing my way to my car's door since he's blocking it. I laggardly took a few steps towards it as he moved carefully to my right side then my phone beeped, it was Dad.

We're home, anak.

"Okay, I'll go..." he uttered.

It seems like he is different right now. He is more likely care free and calm. He brushed up his hair with his one hand and grooved his brows a little.

"Wait, Adriel.." I compendiously called him when he was about to walk away from me. He stopped and looked back.

"I'll wait until when you are ready..." I said while looking into his eyes. I want him to know that I'm not rushing him. I want to make him feel that I'll do anything to understand him because I believe that he has his reasons. Maybe I really have done something bad to him before. I just don't know what it was but I hope that he'll tell me...

He looked down and glanced at me then he left. I watched his back until it was gone. I drove on my way home. I don't know what it means but no matter what, I'll stick with my words... I'll wait for him to open up.

When I entered the gate I saw kuya talking to Uncle Brandon. I walked towards them and gave my brother a tight hug.

"I missed you, 'lil bunny!" Kuya kissed me on my forehead.

"I missed you too, Kuya... prepare lang po ako..."

Umalis na ako at umakyat na sa kwarto ko para mag-ayos at magpalit. I just wore a white front square neck dress and a beige flat shoes. I let down my hair and fixed my bangs. This dress is beautiful... the color, the texture, and the style. Everything is perfect.

I walked downstairs. I smiled when I saw Mom and Dad waiting for me... I hugged them both so tight.

"How are you, my love?" Dad asked. "I'm good, Dad." I smiled at them.

"You're so pretty, anak..." Mom complimented me.

"Thank you, Mom. I love you both so bad."

"Hey, everybody! Time's up..." Kuya just interrupted our sweet moment na dahilan para magtawanan kami.
