Part 2.11 (Epilogue)

I was excited for this evening and during the car ride I couldn't help but turn up the music and rap along with the songs. Yoongi in the beginning was laughing at my silliness but after a while he joined my carride party.

We finally arrived at the large mansion at the edge of the woods. I got out of the car and we walked towards the door.

Huening opened up, a wide smile creeping up on his face. I immediately went to hug the middle aged man standing in front of me, he looked so much like father, he wrapped his arms around me

- 'happy 50th birthday little brother'

- 'don't talk to me about it' he said laughing

I let go of him and he and Yoongi did a bro hug

-'happy birthday Huening'

I stepped forward picking a strain of hair from his head

-'I see you are getting your first grey hairs'

-'ah don't tease me'

-'everyone is in the garden just follow me' 

We arrived in the garden and Mina and Jake walked towards me

-'auntie' they both said while giving me a short hug

It was somewhat strange because Huenings two children were my age now. Or at least Mina was eighteen and Jake was twenty. It was that the party only consisted of people who knew about vampires and thus who knew about me and why I still looked like a teenager while calling a middle aged man my little brother.

-'Cous' Felix came my way, he was still looking buffed and handsome for a 50 plusser. I mean Huening didn't look bad but Felix was winning the aging thing for sure

- 'Felix' I hugged him. It wasn't as if I saw them that often so it was good to see them again.

- 'Yoongi' they shook hands. I did notice some looks from Huenings friends. He did warn me that his vampire hunter squad would come to his birthday and while they heard about me a lot this was the first time they actually saw me. I wasn't worried at all because they would never harm me, but the atmosphere was rather awkward. 

The doorbell rang again and Huening walked inside the house again towards the door.

-'Yoongi, y/n long time no see' Jimin entered the garden followed by his girlfriend Orel.

They started to get serious the last year in highschool. She wasn't against becoming a vampire at all and Jimin as the overly in love boyfriend couldn't wait to spend eternity with the girl.

It was in a way ironic he beat himself up so much for changing me while not having any problem changing her, although she really wanted it so that does change the situation.

I gave them both a hug. Jimin and Orel were the ones we saw the most so his comment was obviously sarcastic. I think Jimin also still felt the need to protect Huening and therefore stayed in this area as well.

Jin and Namjoon had moved to Japan for a while. We visited them sometimes, whenever we could.

Talking about Jimin, you might wonder what about Jisoo? We were able to not cross paths with her, that was in contrast to Jimin and Orel when they left the little town. Jimin did meet Jisoo, accidentally or on purpose we still are not sure. He claims it was just a coincidence but Yoongi and me had our doubts. Let's say he had been so upset about what had happened; him changing me, Huening being left all alone believing his entire family is dead, that Jisoo eventually became the victim of Jimin's blind rage of hate and revenge. Can't hear me complain 

I looked around and saw Felix together with his wife and children, he named his first son Chan, and Huening with his wife and children. I couldn't help but still feel a little bit jealous. They both lived a beautiful life, they got children, watched them grow up.

There was a certain beauty in it I could not explain properly.

I sometimes talked about it with Huening. He said that the certainty of death made it that he felt alive. I knew what he meant. Being a vampire took that fear in a way away, I mean we were still sometimes being hunted by those vampire hunters, but this was in a strange way becoming normal, so we could be killed but the limitation of time and thus a natural death was not something we had to be afraid of. 

Deep sunken in my thought I felt a hand in my hand. Yoongi's fingers interlocked with mine

- 'hey love, you're daydreaming again' he whispered and I smiled at him

Don't get me wrong it wasn't as if I wasn't happy. I had the most amazing man by my side. my husband actually.

Yoongi knew how I struggled after I became a vampire, and he pointed out it was important to celebrate those moments you would celebrate in your human life, even though we probably would do it a hundred time. When I bought my first car, when we bought our first house, even the first time in an airplane, he would make all those first time moments special.

Eventually when I was able to control myself near humans he asked me to marry him, he wanted to be sure that Huening could be at the wedding, and thus it took place 8 years ago.

Taehyung indeed became my teacher to control myself and with his help I was able to do so relatively quickly. 

Later in the evening Huenings squad had left and only our family and Jimin and Orel were left. We were standing around a high table.

-'It's kind of special we both hit the 50 mark, not the most common age for our profession' Huening joked at Felix who agreed -'we have had some help though with it' Felix added.

I chuckled and hit Huening playfully who was standing next to me

-'hey, hey I promised you, remember that day we first met again, when you find out about all of this; I promised you that I would put all my effort into protecting you and Felix , your children, your grandchildren and generations to come.and that's what I'll keep doing'

-'that's what we will keep doing' Yoongi added and I put my arm around his waist giving a hug and a kiss on his cheek.

-'ahh even though you are older than me you are still behaving like a loved up teenager sis' Huening grunted and both me and yoongi laughed a little. 

-'but honestly that whole day was a blur, I thought you were dead and then you were suddenly there' Huening said -'yeah we're sorry about that' everyone looked apologetic.

-'hey not so gloomy everyone, living alone for a year thinking everyone was dead was just great, not really but I know you didn't really have another choice, plus I got over it don't worry'

-'how are namjoon and Jin doing?' Huening asked as they became in a sort of weird way his family during the year I was gone. We talked about them when suddenly Jimin interrupted the conversation.0

-'everyone, get a beer' Jimin came carrying a crate of beer and he started handing them out.

When all of us had a beer in our hands including my nephews and nieces Jimin raised his bottle

-'cheers to Huenings 50th birthday'

We all clicked our bottles

-'cheers to having a birthday full of vampires and vampire hunters, prove that we can live side by side' Huening said making us all cheer again.
