We finally arrive at Hogsmeade and my feet already hurt. It was a mistake to wear the shoes because they are new and stiff. James and I break away from the group. "Where do you want to go first?" James asks, looking around at the shops. "I thought you said you had a plan?" I say, an eyebrow raised. "Well, I do but it's... flexible." "Ok, can we go to Tomes and Scrolls? I need some new books." James smiles. "Sure, but how can you need more books? You must have thousands!" I shrug, "I read them all." James grins and takes my hand, leading me down the crowded street.

We walk in, all the way to the back and I immediately search the bookshelves for new novels. We're there for over an hour and I pick out 10 new books while James looks at the quidditch section. I walk over to him and he's reading quidditch through the ages, which he's read at least 20 times. "Hey!" I say happily and he looks up. "Hi! Are those all for you?" He eyes the books. "Yup." I grin at his amazement. We walk to the register and I pull out my money. "Oh no! I don't have enough for all of them!" I say frantically searching my wallet for more money.

James reaches into his pocket and pulls out a few gold coins and sets them on the table. "James, no. It's ok. I'll just pick some to not get." James ignores me and pushes the money towards the man behind the counter. "James I'm serious." He grins at me and before he can make a joke, I say, "Don't say what you're about to say." "How do you know what I was about to say? I was actually going to say you look beautiful, but if you don't want me saying that then ok." He smirks teasingly. I roll my eyes. "No, you were going to say, you're not serious you're Lily, or something like that." "No I wasn't." James says, still smiling. I roll my eyes again. "Your eyes are going to get stuck like that if you keep rolling your eyes." He says as he takes the bag of books from the man. "You sound like my mum." I grin at him and loop my arm through his.

"Now, we should go to Honeydukes, and I can buy you anything you want." He smiles, happy that he can do something like this for me. "Well that's very generous." I beam up at him. "Anything for you Lilyflower." I sigh as we walk into Honeydukes. It's incredibly crowded and it's hard to stay together. Eventually, we split up and meet up at the register, our arms full of candy. We lay it all on the table; chocolate frogs, exploding bonbons, peppermint toads, fudge flies, berties botts, jelly slugs, drooble's blowing gum, and lots of chocoballs. James pays for all of it, much to my resistance.

James looks at his watch and says, "Let's go to The Three Broomsticks?" "Great! It's so cold." I lean towards him for warmth and he puts his arm around my waist. We walk for a few minutes and as soon as we enter the Three Broomsticks, a loud chorus of Happy Birthday starts. I stand there, my face pink from the cold, watching all of my friends, teachers, and then some random people sing to me. As much as I love my birthday, the song is kind of strange and I feel very put on the spot.

When it's over, my friends lead me to a booth in the back, and we all sit together. It's me, James, Sirius, Marls, Remus, Alice, Mary, Dorcas, her boyfriend August Rowan, and Frank. Peter isn't here because he's in the hospital wing for some reason. There isn't room for the ten of us, so Marls sits on Sirius and I sit on James. A moment after we sit down, my friends all give me gifts. I get loads of candy, some cute clothes, some rings and bracelets. After I finish opening all the packages, James leans towards me and whispers, "I'll give you your gift later in private." "You did that at Christmas too. Is it another locket?" I ask jokingly. "No, it's not." He grins at me as Madam Rosmerta brings 10 butterbeers to the table. "But we didn't order!" I say, confused. Madam Rosmerta smiles, "I knew that's what you were going to order. Besides, it's your birthday so everythings on the house." She walks away and I notice Sirius staring after her. Marls notices this too. She whispers something into his ear and his face gets slightly pink. He whispers something back and she smacks his arm and blushes. I look at her, wanting her to explain. She mouths, "I'll tell you later." I nod and Mary says, "Let's play a game!" "Let's play never have I ever!" Dorcas offers holding tight onto August' hand. He's actually pretty nice, not like the other Slytherins, and doesn't care about blood status. I've talked to him a few times and he seems like a good person.
