"Lucky you," Sienna muttered sarcastically, tossing the box aside, where it landed with a small clang on the table.

I glanced up just in time to see a man in a sleek grey suit stride out of the room, accentuating his well-defined back muscles.

The other guy who had entered with Sienna hurried after him, while Sofia stepped forward, glaring at Sienna.

"That was too much, Sienna. You could have killed her!" Sofia scolded angrily, to which Sienna chuckled.

"Almost. But she's still alive, right?" Sofia scoffed, turning her gaze toward me with concern.

My body was still tingling with the aftermath of the shocking experience, and I began to feel dizzy. It was undoubtedly the most traumatic encounter I had ever been through. Weakness washed over me, and pain seemed to engulf every inch of my being.

For a moment there, when Sienna was electrocuting me, an overwhelming urge to give up tempted me. I was on the verge of surrendering everything and revealing the truth, unable to bear the pain any longer.

But I refused to succumb to weakness and fragility. Instead of giving up, I compelled myself to be strong, persevere, and not give in so easily. Yet, during that moment, that voice—masculine and menacing—shouted for Sienna to stop, causing me to flinch.

Who was he? Was he the one in control here? Is the one responsible for my abduction?

"Since you're our enemy, it's best if we shield you from things you don't need to witness," Sienna remarked as she securely blindfolded me once again, tying the cloth tightly behind my head.

I remained silent, listening to the shuffling around me, and felt the ropes around my hands loosen. A sigh of relief escaped me as the restraints fell away, replaced by a painful sting emanating from my wrists.

Those must be bruises.

"Let's go," Sienna said, gripping my left arm and yanking me to my feet. After being confined to that chair without moving for so long, numbness and soreness coursed through my body, causing me to stumble forward. If it hadn't been for Sienna's firm grasp on my arm, I would have landed on the floor.

"Watch it!" Sienna yelled in my ear, and I scoffed.

"Yeah, as if that's going to help. I'm fucking blindfolded!" She tightened her grip on my arm, her nails digging into my skin.

"You don't know when to shut up, do you?" she harshly retorted, tugging harder on my arm and leading me towards our destination.

"Thought you would be used to it by now. I'm not surprised your brain is too slow to adapt to any changes," I sarcastically replied.

"Shut it. You're lucky I'm the one dealing with your fucked-up sarcasm instead of Shane. Say one wrong thing to him, and you'll be dead within seconds." I remained silent as she pulled me forward, the only sound echoing being our footsteps.

Shane? Who was he? Was he the one from the earlier room, the one who ordered Sienna to stop? If he truly held control here, my defiant attitude wouldn't be the only thing he would receive from me.

A door opened in front of us, and Sienna pushed me inside.

"Sit," she commanded, pushing me down onto a hard chair.

"Remove her blindfold," the familiar deep voice spoke once again, assertive and demanding. I realized he was sitting directly in front of me.

Shane.

The moment our eyes met, an indescribable sensation coursed through my body. A low sigh escaped my lips as I gazed into her captivating brown eyes.
