Chasing Her

Prologue

"Uhm, my sister and I are alone po eh," I forced a smile. "She's only 10 years old."

I pointed at my sister who's playing Mobile Legends beside me.

I handed the flight attendant my passport as well as my sister's.

"Kailangan niyo po ba ng mag-aassist sa inyo? I mean, no offense po ah, it said here at your passport you are sixteen-year-old po ma'am eh pero mukha po kayong mas bata sa kapatid niyo po." She then smiled and let out a laugh with a hint of forced charm.

I raised a brow.

She had a deep, throaty, genuine laugh like that sound a dog makes just before it throws up.

"I'm sorry, was I meant to be offended?" I scoffed. "The only offending thing here is your face." I rolled my eyes.

"Ang sama mo naman po saakin ma'am." She murmured while looking at our passports.

I saw her took the gum out of her pocket and shoved it into her mouth. She then chewed it aggressively which made a noise like that sound a pig makes when it eats.

I hate that sound!

"I'm not mean, I'm just brutally honest." I squinted my eyes-shut hard for a moment.

"Sandali lang po ah."

I can still hear her smacking a gum. In annoyance, I clenched my fist and slammed it in front of her.

She darted her eyes at me, biting her lip, swallowing unnecessarily.

"Stop chewing like a fucking pig." I huffed.

Her eyes went round and immediately grabbed a tissue beside her and took the gum out of her mouth before she spoke.

"I am sorry, ma'am." She let out an apologetic smile and bit her lower lip right after.

I gave her a lopsided grin.

"It's fine." I sneered and rolled my eyes."Ariadna, let's go." I grabbed my sister's hands cautiously like those archaic vases. I'm so scared it would leave a bruise if I do it aggressively since she's really sensitive.

When we're finally inside the plane, I couldn't stop thinking about the stupid fucking sound that flight attendant made with her gum.

I grabbed the armrest and shook my head in too much frustration.

I came to the front desk to ask if they've got someone who can assist us because I have a poor sense of direction, not to hear that!

She chewed it like a cow trying to suck a dick.

Could I just forget about it? Why do I make it such a big deal?!

Sa sobrang inis hindi nalang ako kumuha ng assistant.

I pulled my sister's hair, in annoyance, which made her lookup.

"Bullspit!" She let out a soft scream, with her tiny voice. Probably, bewildered of why I purposely pulled her hair.

"What the frig was that?" She glared at me and curled her lips. "I was attacking the Lord ate. Why'd you hit me? Natalo tuloy kami. And now bird-headed immature gamers are trash-talking me." She pouted which made me guilty.

Ano ba yan! Sakanya ko pa tuloy nailabas iyong inis ko. How mean of a sister I am.

"I'm sorry." I apologized.
