Once Sadie finished her last day at summer school she decided to head to the library and reach out to her mother. But first, she would have to find her name. After a couple of hours of trying to find her. About 2 and a half hours she found her. Sadie's mother's maiden name was Cassie Reyes. She lives in London, England. She is a nurse and works at The Royal London Hospital. Since Sadie was able to find her she looked for a phone number to text her. Rosie being as bold as she is decided to just start texting her.

The message started simple...

Hey Cassie, it's your daughter Sadie though you may not know that since after you gave birth you left and didn't name me. So Grayson named me Sadie, but the thing I don't understand is why he gave me your last name when he could've given me his.

Then progressed into something deeper;

I want to go live with you. You are my only option since I don't know anyone else. I can't handle another day here with dad. He's turned into such an alcoholic since I can remember. He physically abuses me. He didn't even care that I started juuling and smoking weed or that I ditched. I want a fresh start. I'm going to start high school in about three weeks. I don't want to start it here in LA. Everyone knows me as the bad kid the girl who smokes weed and juuls. I want to change myself for the better and become someone. A start where no one knows me and in the future maybe come to LA and visit dad. I just want a new me.

Sadie sent the message. As she waited for a response she headed home.

When she arrived home of course she found her father drinking. Sadie had gotten used to coming home and seeing her father drinking. He was always drunk. Grayson had a part-time job at a gas station and got minimum wage. They lived in a very crappy house how Sadie got into an all-white middle school who knows. Grayson mainly spent his money on alcohol. Sadie didn't know who paid for the bills or anything.

"Hey dad," Sadie said as she shut the door and locked it.

"Que quieres, Sadie," (what do you want) Grayson slurred.
"Nothing, I just got home from the library."
"Okay pues, ve a tu cuarto," (go to your room) he said.

Sadie walked towards her somewhat small room. She laid down on her floor bed and just scrolled through her phone on Instagram. After about half an hour of scrolling, she received a message from an unknown number.

(xxx) xxx-xxxx~ Sadie, that's your name hmm I've always wondered what your name was since the day I left. I know you are growing up without a mother and I'm sorry at the time I just wasn't ready to become a mother I wouldn't have known what to do. I was young and wanted to go to college and make a living of myself first. I've decided to take an early flight tomorrow morning to LA and meet you for the first time since you were born. When I meet you I'll tell you more about my decision and why I did it. I'm guessing your father doesn't know about this so if I were you I'd give him a heads up so at least he knows I'm going into town to see you. read at 6:23

Sadie got out of bed and decided to get up and tell her father.

"Dad I got something to tell you and don't get mad," Sadie said nervously.

"Que?" (what) Grayson slurred while taking a drink from his beer bottle that he had already finished halfway.

"So I got into contact with Cassie, and I sorta told her I want to live with her since I can't handle being here anymore I want out of here and I want a fresh start with her."

All of a sudden Grayson threw the beer bottle at Sadie but missed and the glass smashed against the wall.

"No quiero verte salir de mi cara ahora y para la otra no pierdo," (get out of my face I don't want to see you, and next time I won't miss) Grayson said really pissed.

"I'm just gonna let you know that Cassie is coming the day after tomorrow and she is going to be here and hopefully take me with her so be prepared for that," Sadie said walking out the door and slamming it.

Sadie decided to take a brisk walk through the park near her house. She was so nervous but kind of excited to finally meet her mom. Sadie never knew anything about her mom or even what she looked like. The only thing she knew was her last name. Many thoughts were going through her head. Like how everything will turn out if she will move to London with Cassie, or if Cassie will even like her.

Sadie walked back to him and walked through the door to see her father gone. She went to the kitchen and decided to make herself some dinner. Sadie grabbed the leftover eggs, ham, and bread and made eggs with ham and a piece of toast. She ate in her room and since she didn't have a tv Sadie watched Netflix on her phone. As she finished her food she got a message from her best friend Raelynn.

Raelynn~ Hey girlie, I just wanted to check in with you to see how you're doing I know you just finished summer school and was wondering if you wanted to head to the mall on Sunday around 11. read at 8:48

Rosie went back to the kitchen and cleaned up her mess, did the dishes, and dried them. As she put the last plate away her father walked through the door and slammed it. Sadie ran to her room since she knew he was still angry with her and he was also very drunk and sometimes if he's too drunk and mad he gets abusive.

It was around 10:45ish when Sadie decided to take a shower. She walked past Grayson's room and he was passed out on his bed with a beer bottle in his right hand. Sadie opened the bathroom door and quietly turned on the water and undressed. Her shower was about 15 minutes. Sadie washed her hair, face, and brushed her teeth. The last thing she did was shave. She got out and dried herself off and moisturized. Rosie but on some shorts with a hoodie over it.

Sadie laid in bed for about an hour and a half scrolling through different types of social media she has. Sadie had a ton of followers but followed very few people. She didn't understand why she had such a big following or why she was popular. A lot of people picked on Sadie when she was in elementary since she was Hispanic.  In middle school, it was a bit different some people cared whereas some people didn't. Sadie became very tight with about six people which caused her to be as bad as she is. Her friend group consists of; Raelynn, Peyton, Kaylee, Kayden, Dylan, and Brad. She met them in seventh grade in her first-period class which was PE. After the first period, they found out they all had every single class together. After a few weeks, they all grew super close and did everything together.

Her middle school was nice but the people weren't as nice; they didn't care much about anything. There were few that actually did care while others didn't. Sadie never had a crush on anyone she thought that there was no point in crushing on someone who she might never see again. Every now and then she would see a cute guy and give a little simple smile to the guy she saw.

It was about 10:34 p.m. and Sadie thought it was best to go to sleep since she was meeting her mom for the first time ever. She was super anxious and nervous. She changed into her pajamas which was just a plain oversized t-shirt with short shorts. After she changed she did her night-time routine which consisted of; washing her face, brushing her teeth, and flossing. Once she dried off her face and moisturized she laid down on her bed and fell straight to sleep dreaming about what her mother was like.
