On his way home Ren laughs with his friends.
Ryuji:Hey Makoto. How about we see what's on the radio?
Makoto:Sure.
As Makoto turns on the radio the news is on.
News Reporter:We interrupt this program with some breaking news. There has been a brutal murder of a couple.
Yusuke:A murder?
Ann:That doesn't sound good.
Ren:Let's hope that there will be justice. Hey how about you guys meet my folks. They'd be glad to know I made some good friends.
They all agreed and 10 minutes later Ren was home. He walked in.
Ren:Mom, Dad I'm home! My friends are here.
No answer. He called again.
Ren:Hello?
Still no answer. He called once more this time the others calling with him.
Ren:Mom, Dad?
Ann:Mr. and Ms.Amamiya!
Yusuke:Hello?
There was no answer. Ren walked upstairs to see if they were asleep. It was dark when they got there. He knocked. No answer. He knocked once more this time asking to come in.
Ren:Mom, Dad? Can I come in?
No answer.
Ren:I'm sorry for barging but I'm coming in.
He went in only to find something horrifying. He found his parents dead. His mom was brutally stabbed in the chest while his dad had the knife in his head. Ren screamed very loud and the others rushed upstairs to find what he saw.
Ryuji:Yusuke call the cops!
Yusuke called the police and they came.
Officer:Another one? The Amamiyas this time eh? Wasn't their son falsely accused of assault?
Ren:That's me.
Officer:Do you have anywhere to go?
Ren looked down but then Ann stepped in.
Ann:Yes. We know someone who will take him in. We drove him home.
Officer:Take him there and see if they'll adopt him.
They agreed. Ann called Sojiro.
Sojiro:Hello?
Ann:Boss we have a problem.
Sojiro:What happened?
Ann:Ren's parents were murdered.
Sojiro:Murdered?
Ann:He went in and found them dead.
Sojiro:Bring him back here we'll all have a talk.
They went back to Leblanc as they sat down with Sojiro.
Sojiro:Ren explain everything that happened.
Ren:I went in and I wanted to introduce my friends to my folks but...when I went in and called out for them there was no answer. I went upstairs and knocked on their door there was no answer. Finally I went in and I saw them dead.
Sojiro:Holy shit...
Ren broke down crying. Sojiro then decided something.
Sojiro:Hey go upstairs with Futaba. I'll give her a talk too later. Maybe you guys can play video games.
Ren:Ok.
Futaba:C'mon let's go.
They went upstairs as Sojiro talked to the others outside.
Sojiro:I think it would be a good idea to adopt him.
Yusuke:Your going to adopt Ren?
Sojiro:You guys are still in high school. Ren can't live on his own. The poor boy needs a father. So I thought what if I adopt him so he still has a home and he can stay here with you guys.
They all smiled at the idea. Especially Ann. She had feelings for Ren for a long time. Sojiro called Futaba.
Futaba:Hang on let me get this.
Ren:Thank you Futaba.
Futaba:Anytime.
She went downstairs and answered the phone.
Futaba:Hello?
Sojiro:Futaba your going to have a brother.
Futaba:What?
Sojiro:I'm going to adopt Ren. Don't don't anything I want to surprise him.
Futaba:Ok got it.
They hung up and Futaba went back upstairs. Sojiro picked up the adoption papers and signed them. Putting his and Ren's names on it. Now all he needed to do was surprise Ren.
Sojiro:Now to go show him.
They all got back in the van and went back to Leblanc. They walked in.
Sojiro:Ren are you still awake?
Futaba came down.
Futaba:I kind of let him use my headphones to listen to something that makes me calm down. Sorry but they're noise cancelling.
Sojiro:Its ok I'm glad you told me. Can you go get him?
She went upstairs to go get Ren.
Futaba:Hey Ren. Sojiro wants to talk to you.
Ren went downstairs.
Sojiro:Sit down there we need to talk.
Ryuji:Think your gonna like this man.
They sat down as Sojiro began to tell Ren.
Sojiro:Ren when I heard what happened it made me angry at whoever did this to you. I felt really bad for what happened I'm sorry.
Ren:It's ok it's not your fault.
Sojiro:I know but...you need a place to stay. So for that reason I decided to do this.
Sojiro showed Ren the adoption papers. He read it and began to tear up.
Ren:You...want to adopt me?
Ann:He gave us the talk about it outside. Now not only do you have a father you don't have to leave your friends.
Ren looked at Sojiro with tears in his eyes.
Sojiro:So what do you say to this?
With tears in his eyes Ren began to call Sojiro something he's never called him before.
Ren:D...dad...
Sojiro:What was that?
Sojiro said with a smile on his face. Ren repeated himself with tears in his eyes as he stood up Sojiro standing with him.
Ren:Dad...
Ren hugged Sojiro as he hugged him back everyone smiling at the moment. Ann teared up not only because she can continue to see him but also because he had someone to call Dad. Futaba joined in the hug.
Ren:Sis...
Ren hugged her too. Ren has never acted like he was acting that day. He was happy. The others were happy to see Ren as happy as he was. Ryuji teared up slightly as well.
Morgana:Ryuji are you crying?
Ryuji:No!
Makoto:I thought I saw tears.
Ryuji:Shut up.
Ren began to calm down as happy as he was.
Sojiro:Welp. Welcome home...son.
Sojiro said with a smile on his face.
Ryuji:I know some people who work for a moving company. I'll call them in the morning to go get your stuff from your old house.
Ren:Thanks.
Ryuji:Anytime.
