During the night, she woke up from fire. She whines, trying not to wake everyone at the Spellman Mortuary up by her painful noises. Her hands scratch at her chest as if she could rip the skin from her bones. Amatis watches in horror when she sees the scratch mark, the Devil's mark, on her chest becoming bigger. How could that be? It only grew when she denied him and that hasn't happened since before Sabrina's first, attempted Dark Baptism.

Unfortunately, it left her no choice but to cover herself up until it disappeared again. She goes downstairs to join her family at breakfast. It was like nothing changed with the arrival of the new year. Only Hilda and she knew about what had been revealed to her. Even aunt Zelda did not know. Sabrina comes down too not much later and reveals that she was visited by the Dark Lord and that she was asked to do his bidding. "It was strange. He asked me to-" "No, never mind," Zelda cuts her off. "Whatever devotion He asked you to perform, it is a sacred covenant between you and the Dark Lord. I shall not be the reason you break it," she says. "Did He.. come to you guys?" Sabrina's question was innocent, but Amatis had to truly try not to run away in horror.

"These tasks that He asks some of His followers to perform from time to time, they are gestures that demonstrate, that prove one's dedication to the Path of Night." Sabrina frowns. "What if I don't wanna do what He's asked of me?" "You'll be shocked to hear it doesn't work that way, Sabrina. You've been tasked. Nothing to do but perform the dark devotion. Preferably with a.. smile." Amatis fiddles with her nails beneath the table. This was provoking anxiety within her. "If you will excuse me, classes will start within an hour and I need to get Felix up and ready. Maybe clear him of his hangover, we'll see how it goes." Hilda waves at the girl. "Bye, darling." Zelda mutters a quick 'see you soon' and then the girl had already disappeared.

When the usual play of the Academy, which was just like always The Passion of Lucifer Morningstar, was announced, Father Blackwood declared that Ambrose would be playing the False God, Nicholas would play Lucifer with Felix as understudy, Sabrina would be Stolas and she, Amatis, would be Lilith, with Dorcas as her understudy. She was honestly surprised, but when she thought about it, she also wasn't. Maybe this was somehow linked to the strange sensation she felt that morning? Maybe Lucifer wanted her to play Lilith so he could see how she would submit to him and allow him to use her as a concubine, something that Amatis and he had fought over. He was, after all, a sick pervert sometimes.

The brunette Spellman had been familiar with the former script, but seeing that Father Blackwood wrote a new version of the infamous play she would have to memorize her new lines. Amatis had heard from other students at the Academy that Sister Jackson would no longer produce it and that her aunt had taken over her role. The girl wonders what happened with Sister Jackson, but maybe this would be for the better.
