You wasted no time slipping on your uniform in the safety of your room, away from the arguing that erupted the second Fury announced you were going on a mission."(Y/N) has never been on a mission, let alone done any training for one." Steve exclaimed.
"I understand that Cap. But (Y/N) is the only person who knows what exactly we're looking for."
"Then they can stay in the jet and act as surveillance."
"No." You stated.
All eyes turned to you, slightly surprised by your outburst. "I can't stay in the jet. I want to be out on the field."
"(Y/N)-"
"Steve, I get it. You don't want me to screw up the mission but I won't. (Y/C/N) claimed that the camp was where they were keeping (R/N). We all know that I'm the only one they would recognize and would go with."
You looked around at the team, plead in your eyes. "Please, let me do this."
The room was silent for a minute before Cap spoke. "Fine. But you will not leave our site, no matter what."
You nodded and turned back to Fury, awaiting orders.
"Go get dressed (Y/N), wheels up in 20."
That was 40 minutes ago. You now sat in the Quinjet, by yourself, not really knowing what to do for the next 3 hours.
You let your mind wander a bit and before you knew it, you were thinking of (Y/C/N) again.
The ride to your house silent, a tad awkward to be honest. When (Y/C/N) found out you had your own driver that could take you anywhere you wanted, the look on their face was priceless. Even ten minutes later, you were still smiling about it.
When you pulled up to your house, you thanked your driver and casually climbed out, unaware of the wide-eyed human trailing behind you. You stood in front of the door and placed your fingers on the finger-print pad. The door opened and you walked inside, motioning a flabbergasted (Y/C/N) to follow you.
As you walked into your living room, (Y/C/N) finally spoke. "Holy shit."
You let out a laugh and turned to see your guest spinning in a slow circle, taking in the cafeteria sized living room.
"Since you're so intrigued in my house, how about I take you on a tour and you can pick what room we work in."
(Y/C/N) nodded and you began to show them around. Making sure to avoid any rooms that belonged to your parents or siblings.
"And last but not least, my personal favorite, the sunroom."
The 1,000 square foot room was flooded with light. Windows accompanied by a double door allowed you to see and go outside to your 800 square foot deck that led to a set of stairs which led to your pool, whenever you pleased.
Aside from the beautiful scenery outside, the room itself was what you loved the most. Because you spent most of your time here, every single item of décor was your idea. The fairy lights that hung along with the ceiling, the giant hammock that hung from the corner of the room, and the pull out sofa that sat next to the snack bar which you had designed.
You turned back to (Y/C/N). "So where do you wanna work?"
"Here."
You smiled. "I was hoping you'd say that."
