Chap. 42

I get everything ready and run downstairs. I see Cam sitting on the couch, eating a sandwich and stop. "Where are you going?" He asks and stops chewing.

I sigh, "Jack's," I say because I have no girlfriends. He smiles, "your not staying the night, are you?" He asks. I nod, "yeah, I am." I say.

He shrugs, "alright just don't get pregnant," he says. My eyes tear up. I'm gonna miss him. I go over and give him a big hug. "Your only gonna be gone a night, Sam," he says.

I release him, "yeah," I say. I start for the door. "I love you, Cameron," I say and then hop into Jack's car. Before I left, I made sure to keep my phone in my room.

About 20 miles later, we stop at an overlook. "I love you, Sam," Jack says. I smile and kiss him long and good, "I love you too," I say.

He holds my hand as we watch the sun go down. Eventually we count money and see we have 1,587$ in total.

Jack decides we'll stop at a motel in Arizona. We don't know where we're headed, we just know that were wanted to get out of La. Crazy, right.

I fall asleep around 1am and wake up in a bed at around 7am. I see Jack next to me, and man he looks hot without a shirt. I take a shower, and dress in a tight crop top, and some sweats.

I wake up Jack around 11am and we buy something from the vending machine.

"Sam, will you go pay for the room?" He asks. I nod, and take a twenty.

I walk to the lobby building and find a somewhat twenty year old boy  working the desk.

"How may I help you, miss?" He asks me. I look at his blonde hair and green eyes. "I'm just paying for my room." I say.

He smiles as he types something, "you come alone?"

I laugh, "no, actually, I'm here with my brother." I lie. He smiles, "you are very attractive, what's your name?" He asks.

I look down, "my name is Sam, can I pay now?" I ask.

He stops and looks up, "I'm sorry you don't need to be rude!" He says.

I lay my twenty on the desk, "we stayed for one night," I say.

I turn to leave but he grabs my wrist, "it's twenty five, for being so rude!" He says. I roll my eyes.

"Hey! Is there a fucking problem?" I hear Jack yell. The boy releases and I hurry to Jack's side. I grab his hand.

"No, sir. You must be her brother.." he says unsure.

Jack looks at me funny, "no, I'm her boyfriend." He says.

The blonde boy looks mad, "oh, I'm sorry. Everything is taken care of," he says and puts the 20$ in the cash register.

Jack steps up, "you touch her again, I'll smash your skull. Understand?" He says quietly.

The boy nods and me and Jack are on our way.
